Despite the scene that had just occurred, RedRunner still wanted to go on-stage and sing. He had to. For Feather. He stepped onto the stage, noting that Flint was sitting all alone at an isolated (stone) table. He glanced at Feather, nodding before starting.
"I will be singing the song "Eyes Blue Like The Atlantic" by Sista Prod," he stated.
"Now I'll begin:" The lights dimmed as he started singing.
" Eyes blue like the Atlantic and I'm going down like the titanic Eyes blue like the Atlantic and I'm going down like the titanic," he sang, hoping it wasn't too romantic, yet still romantic enough.
"Eyes blue like the Atlantic and I'm going down like the titanic Eyes blue like the Atlantic and I'm going down like the titanic." He shuffled his talons nervously as all the eyes in the room slowly began turning towards him, although there was only one pair of eyes he wanted to see.
"It wasn't all romantic Stay hungry, stay foolish It was their farewell message as they signed off Stay hungry, stay foolish," RedRunner continued, reassured by Feather's gleaming blue gaze.
"Eyes blue like the Atlantic and I'm going down like the tit- Eyes blue like the Atlantic and I'm going down like the titanic," he finished. Everyone cheered and clapped as RedRunner bowed and walked off the stage, though Feather cheered the hardest.
He plopped own at her table as the next singer, Mamba, of course, stumbled onto the stage.
"I'll be singing this song with my friend Cottonmouth," Mamba announced drowsily.
"That was beautiful!" Feather exclaimed to RedRunner.
"Now we'll begin," Cottonmouth confirmed.
"Really?" RedRunner asked Feather. She nodded.
"Where did you hear that song?" Feather asked RedRunner as the SandWing duo on the stage began their wonky song.
"My great, great grandparents would sing it to each other," RedRunner informed her.
"Didn't your parents sing it to each other too?" Feather asked.
"No, from what Flint and I could tell, our parents don't like each other," RedRunner sighed.
There was a silence between the two, filled with a drunk Mamba's mumble-singing and Cottonmouth's beat-boxing.
"...Why don't they like each other?" Feather asked hesitantly.
"They were forced into marriage by their families," RedRunner admitted.
"Who would do that?! Why is your family so cruel?" Feather gasped.
"No reason!" RedRunner said quickly, immediately snapping his snout shut after.
Feather gave him a weird look. She respected RedRunner's privacy, though, and she didn't push him further.
"Well, let's listen to the rest of this song," Feather said. RedRunner just nodded quietly.
They sat in silence the whole rest of the time that Mamba and Cottonmouth's were singing, listening to the song.
When it ended, unlike most everyone else, they didn't cheer or applaud.
