Izzie Stevens: Here to Stay

Valentine's Day Massacre

(I am going to start publishing chapters more frequently I just had a busy week last week and didn't have time to write anything)

On Valentine's Day night Izzie walks downstairs to a surprise candle light dinner in the kitchen. Alex has impressed her a few times with romantic surprises but this was by far the best. The table was covered in rose petals and he had splurged on her favorite champagne.

"Wow" Izzie said shocked "you did this all on your own?"

"Of course it's Valentine's Day" he replied with a big smile.

He pulled out her chair and she sat down while he poured them both a glass.

"You know, it is our first Valentine's Day being married" he informs her as if she didn't already know "I want this to be special"

"Of course" she agreed "you know recently I've been thinking about... um stuff"

"I need you to be more specific"

"You know like... the future?"

Izzie tried to bring up the topic as gently as possible because she knows how freaked out Alex can get sometimes when mentioning the future.

"Um what do you mean by the future?" He asked trying to not act completely freaked out.

"Like having a house of our own, maybe... just maybe thinking about kids? Well obviously not right now I know it is recommended two years after remission to carry children. Then the embryos that could end up not even working for all we know and-"

Suddenly they are interrupted by the sound of their pagers going off 911.

"I made sure we were off today"

"Me too" Izzie replied "This just be really big"

They headed to the hospital as quickly as they could.

After arriving at work and changing into scrubs they start finishing some paperwork before heading down to the pit when Lexie walks up to them.

"Iz can you bring these over to room 2007" Alex asks while unknowingly handing the papers to Lexie.

Alex does a double take and realized he wasn't handing the papers the Izzie.

"Woah"

"Lexie?" Izzie asks

"Quit staring!" She snaps back at them "I'll probably change it back anyways.

"Really?" Izzie asks "I kinda like it, it's new"

"Is this because of mark?" Alex asks "Is this some extreme makeover to make the guy that dumped you jealous?"

"I didn't get dumped" Lexie corrects him

She goes on saying how she wanted change  and to do something for herself, while they're both only half listening because they just want to get to the pit as soon as possible.

Izzie and Alex arrive to the pit. Alex is assigned on the case of Amile, the waiter in love while Izzie and Meredith are assigned on the case of Mrs. Banks, the women the waiter is in love with.

They leave the patients room and discuss how they're obviously in love.

"He gave me 50 bucks to put him next to her, he's got the hots for her"  Alex tells them

"No way" Izzie replies "Her husband is in surgery, she is married. There is no way he waited them for years and never confessed his feelings for her"

Meredith agreed with Izzie.

Alex reaches into his back pocket and pulls out the crinkled 50 dollar bill
