Almost every attending and residents seemed to be preparing for the joint twins surgery.

Izzie and Alex both seemed to have a lot on their minds. Because of the joint twin surgery they had to push Izzie's oncology appointment again. They had kept pushing the appointment back for two weeks now. Well not Alex just Izzie. She had been making up excuses to not go because her oncology checkups always freak her out.

The surgery was done in teams. There was a green team and a red team for each twin as well as teams for each specialty.

Izzie was going back and fourth updating the parents. The parents were young and feeling judged and under so much stress with both their babies in surgery so they knew Izzie was the best person to update them.

Alex was supposed to be doing the flip with Robbins. It was the most risky part of the surgery and could ruin everything if it went wrong. Webber got under Alex's skin and he got really concerned so he went to talk to hunt and Hunt ended up giving the flip to Richard instead.

Izzie was extremely confused to come back from updating the parents to see Webber doing the flip

'Um, Why aren't you doing the flip?' Izzie asked

'Webber snaked it from me' He told her.

'Webber?! He hasn't even practiced this. You've been practicing for two weeks! You should be doing it.'

'Yeah well tell him that'

'I told the parents about how you practiced and how you had this thing down cold.'

Izzie looked over to watch the flip. The flip went seamlessly.

They continued with the surgery while Izzie, Alex, Jackson, April and Cristina watched from the gallery.

Meredith walked into the gallery with Zola and Izzie couldn't keep her eyes off of her. All Izzie could think about while looking at Zola was how much she wanted to hold her own baby and bring them up to the gallery to watch surgeries and show them off to everyone.

Izzie kept going back and forth between watching the surgery and updating the parents.

One of the twins, Brandi, started going into kidney failure. Izzie had to deliver the news to the parents who weren't happy with them. They were completely freaking out blaming the doctors for convincing them to have the surgery in the first place.

Izzie tried her best to calm the parents but they were still freaking out. There was no way to calm the parents down though. Both their babies lives were in danger, how were they supposed to not freak out?

They decided to do a kidney transplant since Randi still had both kidneys and they would be a perfect match.

The transplant was successful along with the conjoined twins surgery.

After surgery Izzie updated the parents who were overjoyed to know their babies were safe.

After surgery Izzie and Alex went to the NICU to see the babies through the window.

'Hey I heard Webber stole surgeries from you twice today' Izzie teases him.

'Yeah, but I guess I learned something from it'
He told her.

'You know I feel like I learned something today too. Brandi and Andi's parents were terrified. All day they were freaking out, everytime I updated them worse then the last, but- in the end it all worked out. They don't have any regrets about it and all the fear at the end of the day was worth it. It was worth it because they had 2 beautiful babies. They didn't let fear hold them back and it worked out for the best.
I don't wanna let fear told me back. So I scheduled my 2 year appointment again and this time I'm going through with it.' She told him.

'Really?' Alex was surprised because not to long ago she was freaking out and now she seemed so calm.

'Yeah, really. I've been avoiding the appointment because even the idea of recurrence has been terrifying to me. I know usually I don't freak out this much before appointments but two years is just.... If I'm two years cancer free it really makes me feel like, I'm gonna be okay.'

'Well, you are gonna be okay. You need to accept the fact that good things happen to you. You need that optimism back. I will be with you at your appointment every step of the way. And when they clear you for pregnancy I'll be by your side and then we'll raise an amazing kid.'

'I'd love that'
