Izzie is trying to blow dry her hair before work while April and Alex are hogging the mirror.
"April get out of the way" Izzie tells her "your hair looks fine, mine in still wet"
"No you've been in the bathroom all morning!"
"Can you hand me a towel" Jackson asks April as he opens the shower door.
She hands him the towel and bumps into Lexie who was mid shaving her legs.
"Ow!" Lexie yells at April
"I told you to get out" Izzie snaps back.
After they all finish their chaotic morning of getting ready they all head to work.
Izzie gets assigned to a peds ortho case with Alex. The patient is Jack fisher, a 15 year old osteosarcoma patient. He is a ballet dancer in risk of losing his leg of chemo didn't work.
Jack was getting his CT scans done while Callie Arizona Izzie and Alex all waited in the control room.
"Do you think the chemo worked?" Izzie asked
"I mean it had to right?" Alex adds on "He said he wasn't in a lot of pain"
"Oh I hope so" Callie sighed "I really like this patient"
A few minutes later the scans pop up on the screen and the chemo didn't work.
"Oh god, I hate this job sometimes" Callie sighs
Izzie and Alex keep Jack company in his room while Robbins and Torres y'all to his parents.
"Are they saying the chemo didn't work" he asks them
"We should wait for your parents" Alex replies
"Oh my god. You want to cut off my leg?" Jack begins to freak out.
Izzie walks over to his bedside to comfort him "Look, there's a sprinter with prosthetics that runs faster than guys with real legs. With prosthetics today it's amazing."
"You don't get it!" Jack stops her "I need my leg!"
The two of them try to sympathize with Jack but they just can't understand. Jack tells Alex and Izzie he needs to show them. After a little bit of convincing from Robbins and Torres they allow Jack to dance for them in the PT room so they could understand why he needs his leg.
He performs so beautifully nearly bringing them all to tears. After seeing him dance they know that amputating his leg isn't an option.
During lunch in the tunnels Izzie and Alex flipped through any medical journals they could find for a solution. After asking around April remembers a case where they replaced a cancerous bone with a cadaver one.
Izzie and Alex head to the computer to find the case. While they were searching in the lab Arizona and Callie kept talking about Mark when Callie tries to get them involved.
"Izzie, if Alex had a best friend you didn't like what would u do—" Callie asks
"I never said I don't like Mark!" Arizona interrupted.
"Got it!" Alex jumps out of his seat and points at the computer screen. "We don't have to cut of his leg"
They planned to remove the cancerous part of his bone and treat it with high frequency radiation, then put the bone back into place hoping the radiation killed the cancer cells.
While in surgery Callie and Arizona continue to talk about Mark. Arizona admits that she isn't a fan of Mark and Callie demands for a reason.
"Mark stares at my boobs, When we talk" Arizona finally answers. "I love guys, but I have tried my whole life to avoid the boob staring guy and now my girlfriends best friend is that guy. I don't think I need to apologize for the fact that I don't want anyone staring at my boobs except you."
"Can I leave now" Alex interrupts them ,clearly uncomfortable.
They give him permission to leave and Callie continues to defend Mark.
"He doesn't stare at people's boobs that much. Izzie?" Callie turns her attention to Izzie who's been trying to ignore the conversation.
"He does stare at my boobs... a lot. He has since the first day I met him"
"See?" Arizona snaps back at Callie. "He stares at them."
"Because they're good boobs!" Callie tells her.
They finish surgery and wrap up the boob talk. Everything in surgery went smoothly and as long as radiation works he should be able to return to dance doing what he loves.
After they get home from work Izzie and Alex are in bed together talking.
"Alex, You did a really good job with Jack today, Comforting him. You really love Peds don't you?"
Alex smiles
"Maybe I'm considering it for my specialty. But don't act like you don't love oncology, I see how happy you are at the end of the day whenever you're assigned to an oncology case."
"I might be considering specializing in oncology but... I don't know. I still have some time to figure it out"
"Whatever you choose you'll be amazing" Alex says before giving her a kiss on the cheek and shutting off the light so they can both go to bed.
