This Is How We Do It

The race for chief resident was on and Izzie and Alex were in full swing. They thought it would be best to utilize the trailer and stay in the hospital parking lot. As drastic as it sounds it seems like the perfect strategy to get surgeries first.

Izzie has agreed a few weeks ago to help with Callie's baby shower. This of course meant Izzie was in full swing planning decorations, food, games, activities. It felt like the wedding all over again.

Iz spent her morning in the doctors lounge setting up the baby shower.

'Where do you want this?' Meredith asked as her and Cristina carried in a table.

'Oh put it over there' Izzie replies while pointing at the empty side of the room. 'But make sure you put it at a bit of an angle that way everything seems to be opening up to the present area.'

'Oh God it's Bridezilla 2.0' Cristina whispered to Mer'.

'What is that for?' Arizona asked

'Scrapbook station' Izzie informed her.

'Woah, we aren't having a scrapbook station'.

'Callie told us she wanted us to go all out' Mark cut in.

'Yeah' Izzie agreed with him. 'Scrapbook station, Onesie decorating and all. We're doing it.'

Mark and Arizona kept arguing about the scrapbook station til Callie walked in.

'Are you guys fighting again?' She asked them disappointed.

'Do you want a scrapbook station' Arizona asked her.

'Yeah. Of course, it's not a baby shower if you don't get to take home a scrapbook.'

'Told you' Mark and Izzie told Arizona in unison.

'Izzie' Callie turned to her. 'Thank you so much for all of this' she said while bringing Izzie into a hug.

'Of course, I'm happy to help. Also the food should be here in about an hour. I've heard amazing things about their pig in a blankets'

'You're the best' Callie told her before they continued setting everything up.

The baby shower went well. All of the residents decorated onesies. Cristina's had a heart, Lexie's had a pie, Alex's was scrubs, Izzie had a bumble bee on it that said 'could I bee any cuter', and Merediths was just a big mess.

After work Izzie walked out to the parking lot to see Alex sitting on the stairs of the trailer drinking a beer waiting for her.

'Well this is certainly a much shorter commute from work' she joked. 'And... did you steal food from the baby shower?'

'I don't have time to grocery shop.'

'You know it's been a while since we've had sex in a trailer'

Alex gave her a look and they ran inside the trailer and locked the door.
