Izzie spent the day with Hunt and April on the case of a child who's sustained injuries years back from an explosive device, who was also living with aids.

April seemed like she would be winning over the doctors since she learned Swahili for this moment specifically but Stark seemed to still be holding a grudge from her rejecting him.

They ended up needing to rush their patient into surgery once she started coughing up blood. She had intestinal T.B. And adhesions everywhere. They didn't even know where to begin.

After they finished in surgery and Izzie got off work Mark told her about Callie trying to cancel the wedding. After her parents walked out and the priest wasn't available to marry them Callie was spending her what was supposed to be wedding day lying on the couch crying.

Izzie went to stop by to talk to her. Izzie knocked on the door but no response so she unlocked the door herself.

'How did you get a key?' Callie asked her.

'Mark gave me one. He kinda assumed you'd refuse to open the door.' Izzie went and sat beside Callie.

'I know why they sent you' Callie told her. 'And it really doesn't matter the wedding is still off. My mom is right it's a joke. It's not a wedding and it's not happening'

'Callie—'

'I can't have a priest. I know longer have a minister. I'm not being given away by my dad the wedding isn't even legal. What's the point?'

'Come on you know the point. The point is that you and Arizona love one another, and you want to spend the rest of your lives together. And you don't need a priest or a stupid piece of paper or a church to make your wedding real. We both know the church can be anywhere you want it to be. God isn't just in a building. God is everywhere, he's in you, in me. Listen just because the church and your mother hasn't caught up to god yet doesn't mean any of this wedding is less real. It's okay you don't need them. All you need to do is stand up in front of your family and friends and god and commit yourself to someone else, that is a marriage, that is real, that is all that matters.'

After Izzie talked to Callie the wedding was back on, they decided to have Bailey officiate the wedding.

The wedding was absolutely beautiful. Afterwards during the reception everyone debated who would win chief resident. Alex seemed to be in the lead but Hunt said Kepner was a dark horse. Everyone seemed pretty confident in their abilities. Mer and Jackson have clinical trials, April and Izzie has their surgical checklists and constantly going above and beyond for patients, Alex with the Africa program. Almost everyone seemed to be a contender so who knows he could get chief resident.
