Uzui pov

tsk, how long have we been here?! it's been so flamboyantly long! i stare at the sedated girl again.

"eh? she's still out? oops i must have put too much concentration in that mixture, sorry Zui-san for the wait. my bad," Shi teased, walking in with Chi behind. he really is a lost child isn't he. i thought as i rolled my eyes.

"yea, no shit. i've been here for days, i wanna go eat some humans, that would be flamboyant!" i said, clenching my fists at the end, hyped up at the thought of food. the way the blood would always ooze down as i gobbled up the flesh was enough to make my mouth water.

hearing my tone, Chi glared at me in anger, i rolled my eyes again in response. "very well then, thanks for keeping watch, we shall take over now," Shi chirped, clasping her hands together while smiling. i gave her a quick nod and exited.

Kanao pov

i slowly awoke, my head aching and parts of my body that was initially wounded started to hurt again. that must have been from when the demon slashed me. no matter, i can endure pain anyway.

opening my eyes, i wince at the light. i blink a few times, letting my eyes adjust to the light. seeing the two demons from earlier, i try to stand up, only to realise that i was bound to a chair with ropes. "i don't recommend struggling. you'll only hurt your wrists and ankles," the boy said. "what do you want?" i asked, irritated. "well, it was actually Muzan-sama that asked us to capture one of you, but unfortunately he's not here at the moment," the girl said, a mocking sadness in her voice. "and why me of all of them? i'm not all that special," i replied plainly. "hmm, well you just looked familiar, so i chose you. look we even have the same butterfly pin, and i have a strange remembrance of that haori," she said, pointing at my butterfly haori.

just as i was about to ask her how she knew nee-san, and even had her pin, a man walked in. he had blood red eyes, a black hat over his shoulder-length, curly, black hair. Muzan.

Tanjiro pov

"THEY TOOK KANAO?!" i shouted in anger and disbelief. "s-sorry i couldn't do anything... i should have been more helpful..." Senjuro said apologetically, hiding his face. "it wasn't your fault Senjuro, you were pretty much paralysed , if anything, it was all on me," Genya comforted with a hand on Senjuro's back. "nevermind, we'll continue this later, let's report back to Oyakata-sama first," Zenitsu chipped in. we nodded in agreement and started to return. i take one last glance at the mysterious forest. please stay safe, Kanao.

the journey was a long one, but we eventually made it back. "welcome back children," Oyakata-sama starts, but frowns almost immediately after sensing the atmosphere, "is someone not here?" "sorry, Oyakata-sama, we all got separated as soon as we stepped into the forest. i was alone, Zenitsu was with Inosuke and Senjuro, Genya and Kanao were together," i regretfully explained. "Oyakata-sama, it was all my fault," Genya placed a hand to his chest with disappointment in himself, "Senjuro was paralysed and i was the only one that could and should have save Kanao, i am the one to blame, sorry for failing you," Genya added, angry with himself. "it wasn't your fault Genya, i should have known better than to send my children on a risky mission," Oyakata-sama replied. "but-" Senjuro got cut off by him, as he continued, "it wasn't your fault either Senjuro. you were paralysed after all. could you all tell me more about what happened?" Oyakata-sama asked.

"well... after i got separated, i ended up in a hashira mansion. i heard a father shouting and physically abusing his child, which i believe had joined the demon slayer corp, the reason however, i am not sure. i try to stop the man but he was just a figure, then a demon in demon slayer uniform showed up behind me and explained that those were just his memories... he also had a haori with the fire pattern like Senjuro's so i thought he'd killed him. after that, we just fought for a a while and he told me they completed their objective, assumably capturing Kanao and he disappeared," i explained in detail. "also... he had "住" and "火" engraved on his eyes, one of his scleras was even blacked out."

Zenitsu waited a while for Oyakata-sama to process the information before starting, "Inosuke and I were in a flower field. we were looking around for some time when i heard the heartbeat of two demons. we got ready to attack and then two demons just appeared before us, one male and one female. they also each had one blacked out sclera, the girl having "恋" and the guy's had "蛇", their other eye both had "住". we were about to fight but they just said claimed they only came here to distract us, but their mission was completed earlier than they'd expected so they just left." Zenitsu looked like he remembered something and added, "i remember the girl calling him 'Oba-san' which seems to ring a bell but i cant quite put my finger on it." hearing this, Oyakata-sama's eyes displayed some shock, but quickly placed his facade back on.

Senjuro was about to start, but hesitated, so Genya decided to speak for him, "uh... basically we were in a forest, we kept walking until we entered a clearing that had a bunch of butterflies gathering. Kanao was starring at them, then one of the butterflies that was glowing flew towards her and she let it land on her hand. next thing we know, we get blinded by a light and a girl demon appears from where the butterfly was. since she was outnumbered, we decided to just attack her. but she was too fast and immediately knocked us down. Senjuro was faster and went tried to attack her, but she used some kind of breathing and slashed him with a specially designed katana. i think it was a drug so Senjuro was paralysed. she was about to finish him off so i tried to shoot her, when another demon jumped out from the bushes and hit away my bullet mid-air. i think at that time Senjuro was able to move his body again but the girl quickly slashed Kanao like she did with Senjuro, but she used a different drug and Kanao lost consciousness and they took her. oh, right, they both had two black scleras, both had one eye with "住"，the girl's other eye had "蟲" and the boy's  had "霞". the girl also called the boy 'Chi-san'." Oyakata-sama took some more time to digest the information and nodded, and signalled that we were dismissed.

Kanao pov

"well, well, well, nice to meet you. you're Kanao, right? oh you were the one that got adopted by the butterfly sisters. how unfortunate for you that the older one died," Muzan mocked, "and the other one... what was her name again? ah, right. Kochou Shinobu, ain't it. i heard she went missing along with her fellow hashiras one night. you're lucky she even disappeared or you definitely wouldn't have risen up to the rank if it weren't for you being her tsuguko." this man really pisses me off.

"get to the point," i demanded.

"oh my, no need to be so rude now. what if i told you... you're sister's alive!" my eyes enlarged. denial and confusion filled my body.

"w-what? no, you won't deceive me with your sly tricks. she's dead and i've accepted it," i replied in disbelief.

"well it is the truth. i can let you meet her, if you accept my deal that is. become a demon," he said manipulatively.

"no." i replied firmly without hesitation. as much as i want to believe master is alive, i can't trust a demon, let alone Muzan.

"hm, very well then. we shall just plan your execution, even better, in front of your comrades!" Muzan sadistically suggested. well i suppose i wouldn't mind. i won't burden the corps anymore, everyone would be happier too. maybe i'll even end up in heaven and see Kanae-nee and master...
