Chapter 8 - Jealousy

The news of Hong Chayoung being single was all over the surgical floor in a span of one day. It was because Seo Miri had announced everyone that she was holding a "Congratulations Party" on one of his Father's hotels, and everyone who could attend that weekend were invited.

Of course, the real reason behind the party was initially a secret and Miri told everyone it was just a simple get together among colleagues. But everyone was quick to find out the real reason and it had become a public secret that Hong Chayoung was on the market again. It was a huge news, as Hong Chayoung was one of those female colleague every man at work secretly had a crush on and every woman wanted to be friends with her. She was beautiful, but mostly she was kind and considerate to everyone.

Honestly, beside being genuinely happy for her friend, it was just an excuse for Miri to throw an extravagant party. It was Seo Miri's things. Woojin even convinced if Miri didn't turn out to be a surgeon, she would play a great socialite woman who throw over-the-top party every week.

Hong Chayoung was embarassed, but she had to agree as an apology to Seo Miri for not telling her what happened between her and Vincenzo Cassano that weekend.

"I still can't believe you kiss him. He gives off that 'I'm handsome and I'm better than you' vibe and honestly I don't approve you with him. I'm just happy that you and Tae Goo oppa is now a closed chapter and I can happily help you pursue your one, true love," Seo Miri said as both Chayoung and Miri walked toward the nurse station. Miri was handing out her party invitations to every staff, nurses, and doctors, even the interns she met on the way.

"Whatever, I'm just happy that Tae Goo oppa and I are still on good terms right now. He even sent me the picture of him and his team," Chayoung smiled. Miri ignored her and continued to invite everyone on the surgical floors.

"Ah! Speaking of your one and true love," Miri suddenly grabbed Chayoung's arms, making Chayoung glared at her then followed her gaze to Park Jihong who was talking to what seemed to be his patients' family.

"Miri, I told you. Please don't make things weird between us. I respect him as my Sunbae. Nothing more," Chayoung pleaded for a hundredth times to her friend. "Tsk, fine. I just have this gut feeling you know, for you two. I just don't want you end up with his seemingly jerk of a cousin. He always scoffed at me," Miri said.

Chayoung shook her head. "I'm going to find dr. Addison, see you around," Chayoung bid her goodbye and Miri just nodded before she quickly made way to dr. Park. She waited until Park Jihong finished with his patients and once he did, Miri walked up to him.

"Dr. Park!" She chirped happily.

"Eoh, dr. Seo, what is it?" Dr. Park glanced at her and continued to write notes on his patient's chart before handing it to the nurse.

"Are you free this Saturday? If yes, please come to our small get together," she smiled cheekily and handed him the invitation. "It's in the Plaza, we have to wear formal attire and you call that small?" Dr. Park laughed.

"Tsk, just make sure you're there. It's for Chayoung, we need to celebrate her--uhm, just be there, dr. Park. I'm rooting for you! Fighting!" She said. Jihong just laughed at his hoobae. "Thank you, dr. Seo, I'll be there," he smiled. Miri nodded and excused herself to invite more doctors.

Park Jihong looked at the invitation then his eyes found Chayoung who was now talking to dr. Addison. I finally get a chance, he thought to himself and smiled.

The Cassano Estate
Seoul, South Korea

"What brings you here?" Vincenzo said without looking up to see his cousin who just stepped into his study. Luca had previously told him that his dearest cousin was on his way to the Cassano Estate. Eventhough the property was located in Seoul, the access to the Cassano Estate was restricted and only few people knew that such large estate, surrounded by huge pine forest existed. The whole property was strictly guarded, so Vincenzo would know if anyone was to enter Estate's premises.
