Chapter 26 - Reunited with You

Seodaemun-gu, Seoul, South Korea

It was barely eight in the evening when Chayoung pulled her car to park in front of her house. After officially promoted to being a Professor in neurosurgery, she didn't have to spend as much time at the hospital like she used to. For once since graduated from Seoul Medical School, Chayoung could finally have a decent working hour. 

A smile appeared on Chayoung's lips when she spotted a familiar Porsche parked in front of her house. Even though she lost track of how many fast cars he owned, Chayoung knew for sure whose car it was. The surgeon quickly made her way into the house. Her smile only grew bigger when she heard sound of laughters came from inside the simple brownstone two-stories house. 

"I'm home!" Chayoung announced her arrival excitedly, but no one answered. All she could heard was loud cheers from the family room. 

The two most important men in her life were sitting on the edge of the seat, eyes fixated on the TV screen that was showing the final match of the Premier League. The room was a mess, with bottles of makgeolli and peanuts scattered on top of the coffee table. Hong Yuchan and Vincenzo were too fixated on the football match to notice Chayoung's arrival. It only took five minutes for Chayoung's mood to change drastically.

Chayoung lost all of her excitement to and rolled her eyes, not too pleased at the sight of  Vincenzo and Hong Yuchan that were lost in their own little world. At first, it warmed her heart when she found out that Vincenzo and Yuchan shared a lot of common interests, from golfing to their undying love of football. But that day, after two-weeks of being apart with her fiancé with barely a text everyday, Chayoung wasn't exactly happy to find out that Vincenzo went straight to her father instead of her.

"Uh-hhm," Chayoung cleared her throat, but the two men didn't budge.

"Almost there, almost there! Let's go!" Yuchan shouted and Vincenzo was just as loud with his loud cheerings when their team scored a goal, ending the match with a glorious win. "YEAH!" They shouted and jumped up from their seat, hugging each other tightly with fists pumping the air excitedly.

"Wah.." Chayoung shook her head.

Hong Yuchan almost fell when he found out that Chayoung was already standing behind them. "Oh, Chayoung-a, you're home," her father cleared his throat. 

 Vincenzo almost immediately turned his head from the screen to face her. A smile appeared on his lips, which still made Chayoung's heart fluttered even though they had been together for quite a while now. But Chayoung tried to hide her excitement to see Vincenzo again. She missed him, so much, but apparently it wasn't the case for Vincenzo who went straight to her father after his business trip. She didn't even receive any texts or calls from the man to congratulate her for her hard-earned promotion.

Yuchan quickly assessed the situation and realized that his one and only daughter wasn't really in the greatest mood. Hong Yuchan was smart enough to know that it had something to do with him and he decided to flee the scene as soon as he could.

"Ah, Appa has to make an important call," Yuchan smiled at Chayoung and glanced at Vincenzo apologetically, causing the younger man to widened his eyes. 

"Abonim-" Vincenzo tried to stop Yuchan but the middle-aged lawyer only smiled at him. 

"Ah Vin here hasn't had dinner yet. You should have dinner together. Don't bother me, I already have dinner earlier," Yuchan smiled and patted Vincenzo on the back, as a show for support, before he ran away from the family room.
