Vincenzo glanced at his watch. He had been sitting at the reserved table at the Steak House for over half an hour, waiting for Chayoung to arrive. He had never been a patient man but he couldn't do anything when Chayoung insisted that she would meet him at the restaurant because she had to make a quick stop at the hospital.
Vincenzo would have stayed stubborn and still picked her up. However, something about Chayoung's stern voice had this effect on him to obey whatever she said. He used to only react this way to his mother's scoldings when he was younger and he found out that Hong Chayoung once again had a surprising effect on him.
He tapped his fingers on the table covered in white tablecloth impatiently and glanced at his watch again. Then his hand reached for a velvet box inside his suit's pocket to check if it was still there. Yes, Vincenzo had been carrying the Cassano ring everyday since that night at the estate when they both verbally confessed their feelings.
He wanted to propose as soon as he could. Because even though they had been together for not too long, there was not a doubt in him that Chayoung was the one. He never cared nor loved someone this much in his life and he couldn't wait any longer to ask for her hand. He just needed a right time and maybe tonight was the night.
Vincenzo let out a small sigh as he carefully put the small box inside his suit again. Right after he put it away, Chayoung appeared in front of him, out of breath, and with a slightly messy hair.
"Sorry to make you wait, my patient has an emergency but thankfully she's alright now. My residents are there to keep her on watch so she should be fine. Did you wait long?" Chayoung's words didn't stop as she gulped down the water on her glass and tried to catch her breath.
On a normal setting with another person, Vincenzo would have been raging. Someone had just wasted a precious 30 minutes in his life, but he felt none of that when he saw Chayoung in front of him. Instead, he was smiling because Chayoung, his Chayoung, looked absolutely stunning tonight.
"Why are you smiling? Have you ordered yet? Gosh, I'm starving. I heard they have great steaks here! Let's order one of each-" Chayoung stopped her rambling when she noticed that a man in front of her didn't say a word since she arrived.
Is he angry? Chayoung looked up to Vincenzo from behind the menu book she was holding and shocked to find Vincenzo was smiling at her.
Why does he look so handsome tonight? What's with the suit? Omo, I'm just wearing my plain clothes.. Now that I think of it, this place is fancy.. too fancy to be dressed like this, Chayoung looked around the room and immediately felt self-conscious. She was only wearing a simple beige sweater and a black plisket skirt, clearly nothing compared to Vincenzo in his always-dashing Boolarlo suit. She slowly fixed her hair that was probably messy from all the running. Yes, Hong Chayoung ran from her taxi because of the weekend traffic.
"What?" Chayoung asked as she put down the menu. Vincenzo just slightly shook his head, with a smile still pestered on his lips. "What is it?" Chayoung asked again, getting annoyed and embarrassed that her boyfriend smiled teasingly at her.
"Nothing, you just look so beautiful tonight," Vincenzo said it nonchalantly and grabbed the menu. "YA!" Chayoung was about to scold him because of his cheesy lines but immediately stopped when a waiter approached them.
"Are you ready to order Mr. and Mrs. Cassano?" The waiter asked, causing Chayoung's already slightly red cheeks to only go even more red. "W-what-"
"Ah, I'll just have the beef roast steak," Vincenzo said and glanced at Chayoung. She was flustered and the excitement to order the entire menu is out of the question because she was too shocked at what the waiter said. "I'll-I'll have the same," Chayoung said.
