Hong Chayoung couldn't stop herself from blushing because of the man next to her. After embarrassing herself at the hospital's parking lot, she took a mental note to give Woojin an earful for giving her such childish advice. Maybe it's his payback for telling on Miri, Chayoung sighed.
"You should sleep if you're tired," Vincenzo said while glancing at Hong Chayoung who sat on the passenger seat.
"Aniya.. I'm just thinking about something at work," Chayoung smiled a little and turned her face to look ahead. The drive from the hospital took a lot longer than usual because it was snowing heavily all of a sudden and Vincenzo had to drive very carefully. Chayoung smiled sadly as she silently watched the snow outside. It reminded her of her mother.
Vincenzo didn't reply, he just took Chayoung's hand that was rested on her lap and intertwined their fingers together, making Chayoung distracted from her sudden thoughts of her mother. Chayoung looked down at their hands then at Vincenzo who was staring straight ahead on the road.
"Ya, you should drive with two hands, it's dangerous," Chayoung said, as per usual, sounded angry just to hide the fact that her heart was beating too fast for her own liking.
"Do you know I used to race a lot when I was younger?" Vincenzo said out of nowhere. He was surprised that telling these kind of things came out very naturally for him whenever he was with Chayoung.
"Is that something you should brag about?"
"Uhm," Vincenzo nodded, smiling while caressing Chayoung's hand with his thumb. They stopped at a red light and Vincenzo turned his head to look at Chayoung. He was about to tell her more about his racing days when all of a sudden Chayoung's stomach grumbled, making the woman cursed under her breath.
Vincenzo immediately laughed and Chayoung glared at him in response. But the sight of him laughing stopped Chayoung from scolding him. She had never seen him laughed so freely before and it warmed her heart.
"Should we stop somewhere to eat first?" Vincenzo stopped himself from laughing and continue to drive when the light turned green. "Okay, my dad is visiting my Aunt anyway," Chayoung said and looked out the window. Suddenly Vincenzo's phone rang. The man glanced at the bluetooth screen and answered it when he saw it was Veronica.
"Oppa!!!"
Both Vincenzo and Chayoung were startled because Veronica was screaming. Vincenzo immediately pulled to the side of the road. "Vero, what is it?" He asked as calmly as possible. Chayoung on the other hand was already looking worried.
"Mom.. she collapsed! Oppa?! What should I do? Victor Oppa is out and-" Veronica was crying on the other side of the call.
"I'll be there in a while. Just calm down and don't call the ambulance okay? I'll handle it," Vincenzo said. Chayoung looked at Vincenzo, clearly disagreed with him. "Veronica, I will be there shortly. I need to end the call. Don't panic okay?" Vincenzo quickly made a sharp u-turn and drove in a high speed.
"Okay.. Okay," Veronica said and the call ended.
"I'm sorry I can't take you home straightaway," Vincenzo glanced at Chayoung. She immediately nodded. "Should I call the ambulance?"
