Hong Chayoung stared silently at the remaining dried blood on her hands.
It could've been mine, Chayoung tried to shake those thoughts and looked up to the large window just outside Vincenzo's bedroom. However, the thought of another particular woman started to sneak into her head again. Vincenzo and Chayoung never got the chance to talk about it after the incident at the family room. She was just treating Vincenzo's wounds in silence. Vincenzo too was silent, too busy with his own thoughts and immense guilt. His fear had finally happened, even though this time, Vincenzo was lucky enough it didn't get to the point of hurting Chayoung.
"Chayoung-ah," a soft voice made Chayoung turned her face to face the woman who called her. "Dr. Jung is finished," Catherine smiled at her soon-to-be daughter in law. Chayoung nodded in response, trying to force a smile but Chayoung was never the greatest when it came to hide her own emotions.
Catherine, being the sensitive woman that she was, noticed how Chayoung's hands were slightly trembling. She must be still in shock, although she handles him very well, Catherine thought. The older woman slowly walked toward Chayoung and pulled her into a hug.
"Or maybe, should I ask Luca to drive you home instead?"
"Ah-" Chayoung didn't know what to do. She wanted to see how Vincenzo was doing and to check for herself if he's alright. But on the other hand, she knew it was still too much for her to comprehend despite all the warnings she had get about his fiancé's anger issue. She knew she loved him no matter what, but she needed to process all of it.
"It's okay, Eomma," Chayoung finally made up her mind. She knew she couldn't leave Vincenzo alone. She wanted to hear what Vincenzo had to say and probably stay the night to look after him.
Catherine nodded and moved a little to let Chayoung entered the room. Chayoung took a deep breath and pushed the doors slowly. Vincenzo was sitting on the edge of the large bed, his back facing the door.
"Vin-" Chayoung barely took another stepped when Vincenzo stopped her from moving.
"I'm tired," was all Vincenzo said before he laid down on his side with his back still facing Chayoung.
Chayoung shouldn't feel sad about this. She should have known that this wasn't the good time to address the problem between them, but she still felt hurt and sad. His cold tone only made everything worse. She wanted to hug him and told him that everything was alright, but he pushed her away.
Chayoung held her trembling hands and nodded without any words. She tried hard not too think too much about it, that he just needed sometime alone. Chayoung turned her heels and reached for the doors' handle. She glanced one last time at Vincenzo before she closed the door behind her.

Seoul Memorial Hospital
Monday, 7.15 am"Whoaa, did you see?! Our new Head Cardio is so pretty! WHOA truly, Seoul Memorial is indeed the best. Should I change department? My professor promotion still in two weeks, I still have time-" Woojin's loud rant was stopped when he saw the two death glares thrown at him from his two best friends. The three musketeers were walking out together from the conference room after their Monday meeting to welcome the new Head of Cardiology.
"Can you just shut up? I have outpatient today and I don't want you to ruin my mood," Miri glared at Woojin and walked ahead. Chayoung also glared at Woojin before she followed Miri closely behind. Chayoung wasn't in the greatest mood with what happened yesterday and their ungodly hour meeting.
