miranda's 'family'

Part 3: The Church

A few weeks have passed and I am super happy here. Most of the time I'm sat watching Karl work on the machines. It was super cool.

Today however he seemed angry, he slammed the phone down and slumped in his chair. Throwing his hat off, reaching for a bottle of labeled 'burbon'.

I jumped off the table in his office, walking towards him as he looked at the wall covered with a small bit of fabric.

"are you okay?"

"Do I LOOK okay hm, I have to go meet up with my 'family' they are holding a meeting and they need me there"

His sudden outbursts aren't unusual but it still scared me.

"sorry bout that"

"it's okay, when do you have to leave, can I come with you!"

"ha always so happy, but no you can't"

"aw whyyyyy"

"cause kid they don't know about you"

"how"

"I haven't told them, I should have but I didn't"

He looked scared, this is not good.

"why are you scared?"

He sighed and sat me on his lap.

"because miranda is not a woman you should trust or even be near. I don't want her using you for her personal gain."

I looked at him confused as he ruffled my hair. I smiled as he put me back down and stood up.

"fine you can come with but you have to stay with me at all times okay."

I nodded as he started to walk. I followed, he got his hammer and left the building me not too far behind.

We left the factory gates and I ran up behind him nd grabbed his hand that wasnt holding the huge hammer. Karl looked down at me and huffed with supprise.

As we were walking my legs grew tired and he noticed that.

"hey not much further now okay"

"if you say so"

Out of the blue he magnitized a piece of metal that was on the floor

"stand on it kid, I have a magic trick I want to show you"

I stood on the sheet of metal and it started to levitate off the floor. I wobbles a little bit and he laughed.

"don't fall off now!"

I was laughing like a mad man feeling the cool air in my hair was amazing. Karl had a proud dad look on his face.

After a few minuets he lowered the metal and helped me off. We arrived at an old decrepid church it was so beautiful.

Karl grabbed my hand and he knelt infront of me.

"look there are going to be 3 other people besides me and mirandas okay. Alcina Dimitescu, Donna benivento and Salvador moreau okay you probably remember their domains right"

I nodded

"good now stay close to me and if you get uncomfortable nudge me okay"

He gave me a tight hug

"okay"

He stood up and walked me into the church and he opened the large doors.

"you can talk to them but don't go too far okay"

I nodded again and I saw the large church hall.
