miranda's 'family'

Part 7: Going Back

I awoke to the sounds of birds chirping and water flowing. Turning in the bed I gripped the doll tighter, I heard footsteps up the stairs and was greatest by the soft voice of Donna.

"heyy doll wakey wakey, you need to get up now"

A light shake made me groan as I opened my eyes. Yawning I looked at Donna.

"morning sis, what's the plan for today?"

Her face was plastered in a smile as I said the word sis.

"well, I need to drop you back off with Karl then there's another meeting some time today of tomorrow. From then we decide who's going to look after you."

"aww but I'm having fun here! Why can't I just stay here another dayyy"

"I'm afraid mother miranda is the one who decides on what is going to happen. If it was upto me I would let you stay"

"Mother miranda isnt that that lady that was stood at the front with the posh clothes?"

"yes it is she's technically my mother and has all the power"

"so isn't she grandma miranda to me?"

Donna couldn't help but laugh at this as she shook her head.

"right then I will leave you to get changed, the bathroom is down the hall and on your right. Come down when your ready and we can have breakfast."

I nodded and got out of bed, leaving doll who I'm now calling Leah in bed.

-time skip as you don't need to hear about a 10 year old getting changed-

Once I was ready, after brushing my hair and that I went down stairs in a dress Donna had in the drawers.

I saw Donna in the main room and walked in with Leah.

"well good morning, wow that fits you so nicely. Do you like it?"

"I love it so much!"

It was a plain black dress with long sleeves and a grey belt. It looked like the dress Donna had on but smaller.

I sat down at the table waiting for Donna as she left the room. Minuets later she came back in with some sweet smelling food and a pitcher of some sort of drink.

Donna sat down at the table with me then I heard angies footsteps on the wooden floor.

"hey I wanna eat to! What is it... Ooohh pancakes and syrup yay!"

"now now come sit and we will eat"

Donna handed me a plate of pancakes and they were so good how is this woman so good at everything!

"sis how are you so good at everything!"

She looked up at me and a small blush painted her cheeks.

"I-I'm not t-that good"

I gave her a look of shock and carried on eating the heavenly food.

Hours later I left the lovely home now back to see Karl I was sad to leave but I was kind of looking forward to seeing him again.

Me, Donna, Angie and my doll Leah got to the gates of Karl's factory.

"well well welcome back ill unlock the gates and come down wait there"

A loud speaker announced and a buzz of a gate was heard. Angie climbed into Donna's arms looking kind of scared.

Donna waited and I gave her a hug, she knelt down and hugged me properly.

"thanks sis for everything"

"your always welcome at my house"

She stood up and ruffled my hair and I heard the approach of Karl on the stones.

I waved good bye to them both as they walked away back to their home.

Karl held out his hand for me to take as me him and my doll entered the factory once again.
