Part 28: Weeks Ending

Most of the week went by the same, swimming and being taught how fish function. He also taught me about the parasite in the jar.

Today was the final day before karl picks me up. We were sat in the safer lab.

"moreau.. Can I ask a personal question?"

He tuned to look at me,

"depends on how personal?"

"like why you look so different to the other Lords..."

He sighed staring at the jar labeled 'cadou'

"miranda implanted me with one of those and my body reacted to it with rapid growth, like cancerous cells mutating me into this... In other words I am having a reaction to it"

"oh, so is this parasite how alcinas so tall, Donna has a growth on her eye and karl can manipulate metal?"

"yes it gives us gifts. Mine being waterborne but it did not end well for my physical appearance"

I put my head on his shoulder, he smelt like gone off water but he was still my big brother.

Moreau continued to show me how a fish works and how the parisite affects things and people differently.

Hours passed and he stood up with a start.

" heisenberg is going to be here any minuet, you need to pack!"

"oh?... oh yeah!"

I began to laugh at how moreau began to hobble quickly out to the mini village.

We got there and I ran to my house and packed everything up, leah was layed on my bed so I picked her up and placed her in my backpack along with some other items.

" hello I'm back!"

He's here early, I rapidly ran around grabbing my things and I heard moreau and Karl talking.

I saw a crow on the window sill.

"Karl isn't it mothers turn to look after my little tadpole?"

"yes but... Your little tadpole? Huh well their my little shit so mirander ain't getting a day with them!"

I walked out and karl greated me softly.

"hey kiddo you ready to leave?"

"leaving so soon?"

I jumped at the woman's sudden appearance.

"mother mirander so nice to see you!"

"Lord heisenberg Lord moreau and mortal (y/n).... Heisenberg are you forgetting I have them tomorrow so they will be staying the night with me?"

"mirander I thought they were coming back with me?"

"mother did say that she would get a day"

Karl gave moreau a 'shut the fuck up' kind of look and gave me an 'I'm sorry' look.

Miranda walked over to me as she had karl and moreau either side of her and I was directly infront.

"child please walk with me, bring your items as well"

I looked at Karl and moreau, this woman scared me to death sometimes. Fear laced Karl's eyes walst panic filled moreaus, what are they so afraid of, shes the one that protected the village and its inhabitants.

She was all loving, caring... Maternal even. She wouldn't harm me.

Would she?

"child... Child! Are you with me? If so do not dwaldle I hate it."

"y-yes miss"

I remembered what Karl said about her, but there again why shouldnt I trust her she's only been kind to me.

Walking with miranda she took me to her place. A large lab, underneath the altar.

We got into the main room and I looked around, a large table in the center with photos of creatures that a grown man would pee their pants.

"please don't touch anything, your room is beyond that door."

Miranda pointed to an oak door, I couldn't help but feel nauseous as I got further into the room. The feeling grew do dizzyness, that's when I noticed a green haze fill the room. Spinning to try and open the oak door I realised it was locked.

My small body collapsed onto the floor, my vision fading out into a foggy world of greens and yellows.

"now my child, rest."
