Running, my breathing hitched in my throat. I can hear it behind me. It's cold breath, it's peircing stare and it malevolent grin.

No matter where I went I could sense it was still lurking in the shaddows of this forest. It was like a cougar hiding in plain sight. The prey unknowing till its too late.

I kept running but my legs gave out. I was by the maiden of war, where everything ended and were everything begun.

I propped my self up onto the base of the statue. Visions of my parents corpses flickered in and out of reality as it got closer to me.

Hearing slow footsteps coming near I cowered as there was no where else to run. Its laugh echoed around me making me feel lost and alone.

Isolating me.

Beads of sweat dripped down my face as they merged with the salty tears that flooded out of my eyes.

I felt a breach on my cheek and a weight on my shoulder.
