All started with a dare

Chapter 13

After school Eliza, Annabelle, Juliet, Jane, and I went to the mall to go look for dresses for the dance which was only a week away.

"Can we go eat yet?" Jane complained.

"After this store." Juliet said heading over to a dress store.

I could hear Jane groan and to be honest I wanted to eat as long as I sit down. My legs were killing me.

We all head into the store and go dress hunting for each other.

"Ooh, I like that one on you." Eliza says to Juliet as she comes out in a long blue dress.

"I think I want a shorter dress. And it has to be in sea foam green." Juliet says.

"Sea foam green? Why can't you just get a green dress?" Eliza asks.

"Because sea foam is different." She insists.

As Eliza and Juliet complain about shades of green, Annabelle and I went to look for dresses.

"What about this one?" I hold up a light blue dress with ruffles. She rejects the dress.

"Ali, this one?" She holds up a flowy yellow dress.

I shake my head. Finally we both actually might if found the perfect dresses.

Annabelle goes into a changing room to show us. She comes out and it was gorgeous.

Annabelle wore a deep blue dress which looked simple but at the waist it was jeweled and it had a wavy fabric which swished in a swift movement.

"Perfect. Done. That's the one. No debate about it." I say.

"Okay. Now Ali go change so we can see you in your dress." Annabelle says going back to change out of the dress.

I get my dress and enter a changing room with frustrating locks that won't stay closed. I put on the dress and I know its the dress I was looking for.

It was a black dress with lace that wrapped around my arms and fell into a skirt that was a little flowy. It had a gold belt that shined out from the dark black color.

I go out and they all agreed. It was perfect.

"You look pretty in that dress." Eliza says.

"Thanks." I go back to change out of it and go pay for the $35 dress.

We all finally found our dresses. Eliza's dress was a deep purple with black lace over the purple.

Juliet found her sea foam green dress. It had small rhinestones scattered around the dress. Jane's dress was a white silverish dress with one shoulder strap.

We finally took a seat at the food court and we all got fro-yo and shared fries.

"Does anyone other than Eliza have dates to the dance?" I ask.

"Nope." Jane says popping the 'p'.

"Wait you're not going with Bran- I mean him." Eliza asks nearly fully blowing the secret.

"Wait...who?" Annabelle asks.

"No one." Jane says stiring her yogurt.

"Who?" Annabelle insists.

"It's really no one." Eliza says trying to get off the topic.

"Tell me. I need to know." Annabelle says.

"Yeah tell us." Juliet says.

"I don't think I want to." Jane says.

"Ali, do you know who Eliza was talking about?" Annabelle asks me.
