The sale went well again that day. With the additional bakers, they were able to bake more and the customers were happy with their purchase as they didn't have to rush in to get their bread back when Sunhee was the sole baker there. Even with the extra batches of bread they baked, they managed to get it all cleared out before 4 p.m.
Choi Yong and Dowon already went off early since their working time ended at noon. Sehun was busy at the kitchen cleaning up the trays and other items, Haewon was sweeping the floor while Sunhee was at the cash register counting off the sales for that day. That was when someone went inside and greeted them. It was Choi Yong's husband with some package in his hand.
"Good evening, Baek-sajangnim, Haewon-ssi," he nodded to both Sunhee and Haewon.
"Good evening Nam Hojun-ssi. Did Choi Yong-ssi left anything here?" queried Sunhee. He didn't usually drop by and get inside the store and having him there made her assume he was here for Choi-Yong's thing.
Hojun waved, "No, she did nothing of the sort. I'm only here to give you some token of appreciation for welcoming my Choi Yong in," he gave both Sunhee and Haewon a box of collagen drinks. "Here, it's good for your skin and for your energy."
Sunhee smiled graciously as she accepted the package. "Thank you so much for this."
"Thank you Hojun-ssi," said Haewon.
"My Choi Yong is not that warm to everyone else. Is she okay here?" he asked Sunhee with concern.
"Well, she's okay," replied Sunhee short.
"Was she quiet?" he asked again.
"She's not talkative," Sunhee drew the line at that.
"She was like that since she gave birth to our daughter. She wasn't like that before. The doctor said she has post-partum depression and she changed overnight," he sighed.
"Post-partum depression? She didn't say that in her interview," said Haewon.
"Sajangnim, the kitchen is cleared for the day!" shouted Sehun from the back. "I'm going home," he added, oblivious to the fact that Sunhee was talking to someone else in the front.
"Excuse me," Sunhee said to Hojun before shouting back to Sehun. "Okay, see you tomorrow." They heard Sehun whistling happily and went out through the back door. "Sorry for the interruption," Sunhee apologised. "So, about Choi Yong?"
"I'm sorry for telling you this. I hope you won't give her a hard time for that," said Hojun.
"She's reliable and as long as it doesn't affect her work performance, I have no problem with that. Depression is not a disease," stated Sunhee firmly.
"Is she receiving help for her problem?" asked Haewon.
"She refused treatment saying she's fine. I try my best to help her," said Hojun. "I have to get going. Thank you again Baek-sajangnim, Haewon-ssi," he nodded and left.
Haewon looked at him until he was out of sight and Sunhee peered at Haewon closely. Haewon had a look on her face that Sunhee couldn't quite decipher. "What's that look for eunnie?"
"I don't know. I have had this weird feeling since the first time we met him. You know when he came over before we interviewed Choi Yong," explained Haewon.
"He looks like a caring husband," commented Sunhee. "But does post-partum depression made someone that expressionless? I thought it would be obvious in their response to their family members, not anyone else outside the family."
"Their kid is already 3. Does it last that long?" wondered Haewon.
"Beats me. Other than being not that friendly, she's fine," said Sunhee.
