It was a Monday morning.
Hoseok had some time to kill before he had to make a move to work. A car will come for him and take him to the practice venue. A quick breakfast with whatever bread or cookies Sunhee baked would be just nice before he start the day.
Hoseok went out of the bedroom to find Sunhee sitting on the floor with her laptop on the coffee table in the living room. It was obvious that she had been awake for hours, as usual. Of all the rooms and the places around the house, that's her favourite working spot. There's a study room/mini studio in the house but she prefers there more. Her hair was up in a messy bun. She pushed up her glasses back to her nose as she was writing down the notes in her book.
"Good morning, babe!" greeted Sunhee brightly.
"Good morning, aegiya," he greeted back. Hoseok went to the kitchen and made himself a glass of iced Americano. He took a cookie from the jar and then went to her with the intention of giving her a kiss until what he saw on her screen made him pause.
"Just what the heck are you doing browsing on Tinder?" Hoseok's voice went up a notch.
"I'm boyfriend shopping," supplied Sunhee as she return to scribbling notes in her book.
"Excuse me, what does that make me? Why the heck are you looking through that?" repeated Hoseok, putting the coffee on the table with the cookie on it. He lost his appetite instantly.
Sunhee turned to Hoseok. "This is not for me. This is for Younha and Jaesuk."
Hoseok gave Sunhee a strange look. "You're playing cupid for them?"
Sunhee beamed at him. "Correct. Haewon eunnie and I are looking for prospective profiles for Younha who could shake Jaesuk up."
"Does Jaesuk know about this?"
"We did talk about finding a boyfriend for Younha and he looked worried. That's it," Sunhee took off her glasses as she turned to Hoseok. "Help me with this. How can a girl make a guy realise that he actually has feelings for her?"
"A confession would be easy," supplied Hoseok.
"This is special case. They say 'I love you' all the time but it seems that Jaesuk is forever denying when he really feels for Younha. He's quite dense in that department when both Haewon eunnie and I can see he's head over heels over her."
"Try making him jealous," suggested Hoseok.
"That's what we plan to do. Can Tinder browsing make a guy go jealous?" asked Sunhee as she looked at Hoseok.
He raised his eyebrow in response.
"Forget I ask that. Your reaction just now says it all. But we're different. We're already in the relationship. Younha and Jaesuk aren't. Yet," she went up and pecked his cheek in response. "Imagine if I have Younha browsing the yearly firefighter's calendar with Jaesuk around. But it would be difficult bringing that all over the place," pondered Sunhee.
"How did you get your hands on the firefighters calendar?" Hoseok was not amused. The firefighters calendar is basically a calendar featuring firefighters posing for each month.
Shirtless.
Sunhee rolled her eyes. "Duh, it's not as if it's a Playgirl spread. And no, don't ask me how I get that. There's a postal service and I can buy that online. Besides, I'm resourceful," Sunhee stopped Hoseok from bursting out again. "Back to the project. Help me with this."
"Make Jaesuk sit and watch Younha having a date with someone," said Hoseok, sipping on his coffee.
"Oooh, good idea. Now I have to find someone on Tinder or any dating site for that. Honestly speaking, the profiles don't look convincing. Some are too perfect and some, well... profiles are borderline narcissistic. How can a person be too perfect needed the online matchmaking site to get a date? Are they catfishing?"
"Maybe they just didn't have enough time to go around and know people," answered Hoseok readily.
Sunhee looked at him curiously. "You sounded like you're familiar with this. Did you ever post yourself on a matchmaking site before? Be honest."
Hoseok looked uncomfortable and started to touch his ear.
"Hah! You did!"
"I was just trying at that time."
"How was it?"
"It didn't work out. I was too busy to even check on the site after that."
"Which site was it?"
"I don't remember."
"Oh, come on."
"The site is probably down by now."
"Aw, babe. Come on, give me the name of the site and the profile name. I promise I won't tell," Sunhee blinked her eyes prettily.
Hoseok gave her the site name and the profile he used and Sunhee quickly typed it in. Hoseok drank his coffee and munched on the cookie just to hide his nervousness. He was young and he did check that site occasionally at that time. Then, he forgot about it altogether until Sunhee asked him.
"Babe, it's still there and wow, this was way back in 2013," said Sunhee happily. "Your profile didn't say much and your picture... How can you expect to get any response with a blurry image?"
"I told you I was just trying," said Hoseok.
"I'm glad you used that picture," said Sunhee.
"Why?"
"If you posted the full profile of your face, your inbox would be overrun with messages."
"Not really. At that time when we debuted, I didn't even get any fan messages. My self-esteem was low."
"That was then. They haven't had the chance to get to know you, your talent and how wonderful you are. I'm sure if you put up your profile now, you would be flooded with messages," said Sunhee.
"You think?" Hoseok grinned widely.
"I don't just think it. I know it, you know it, but don't do it. You know how good I am with a rolling pin," warned Sunhee. "So now I have to find a guy to date Younha."
"I can help you with that. I know a guy who can pose for the date."
"Really?"
"He's one of the staff who's also a trainee actor."
"No one well-known I hope."
"Not yet, but he has the potential."
"That's brilliant! Babe, you're brilliant!" Sunhee kissed him. "I need to tell Haewon-eunnie about this," she turned and typed rapidly on her phone.
"So, you're into those muscly firefighters, huh?" asked Hoseok as he finished his cookie.
"The calendar is for charity," answered Sunhee straight.
"And that's the sole reason you got that?"
"It looks nice too and it shows dates, weeks and months," replied Sunhee as she went to the kitchen, refilling her tea.
Hoseok just smiled mischievously as he trapped her at the kitchen island. Just as she enjoyed teasing him, it was the same for him, too. "Do I need to pose just like that, too?"
"It would be bad for my health. Really bad," replied Sunhee.
"Bad?"
"In a good way."
Hoseok just laughed as he kissed her deeply. His phone rang, signalling that his ride for work had arrived.
"I'll be back late. You'd probably be sleeping by then," said Hoseok as he took his bag.
"Take care, babe."
"I love you," he kissed her before he went.
"Me too."
"Aegiya," he drawled.
"I love you," returned Sunhee.
"Oh, I'll take a rain-check on the posing later on," he winked.
"Okay," replied Sunhee automatically. She then froze. "Wait, what?"
Hoseok just laughed as he left for work.
It was going to be a good day.
