Hoseok glanced at the clock on the wall of the recording studio. The meeting with the performance director ended and he had enough free time for himself. He and the rest of BTS had to get back for another session of dance practice after the sun goes down. They had performances and concerts lining up, and they had a lot of things to do before then.
Hoseok was thinking about Sunhee and her mom. He knew time is something he didn't have when it comes to work and personal business, but he's trying his best to squeeze that in. His brain was busy thinking of all possible outcomes. If he ditched dinner, he might have enough time to go to the bakery and be back here for practice. It wasn't that far. There's always food prepared after practice ends, and he's not that hungry.
Did he dare to meet up with Sunhee's mom after leaving such incriminating evidence against himself? He knew his parents would flay anyone alive if they saw that kind of mark on his sister.
Who was he kidding?
He would join in with them, too.He shook his head. His parents taught him better. He had to man up, and at least say hello to Sunhee's mom. That was what he should do, and this was the only chance he had to redeem himself in front of her mom.
"Jin-hyung, do you have any idea what a woman about our mom's age would like?" asked Hoseok, surreptitiously as he looked around.
The coast was clear with only him, Jin and Namjoon in the corridor. The rest of the members already went to their respective rooms at the building, either to relax or continue working on something else.
"What would your mom like?" asked Jin.
"I wouldn't ask you if I'm talking about my mom," answered Hoseok. "She has different tastes."
"Red ginseng would always work," suggested Namjoon, joining in. "Who is it for?"
"Sunhee's mom. She's here for a quick visit, and will return tonight," informed Hoseok.
"Whoa, isn't it too early to meet up with her mom?" asked Jin.
"Nothing wrong with meeting your girlfriend's parents at any duration of the dating," defended Namjoon.
"And how do you know that?" asked Jin curiously at Namjoon. "You sound experienced."
"That is not experience talking. That's paying respect to the elder," stated Namjoon. "Common courtesy."
"I don't know about that. I'm old fashioned in that sense. Meeting your girlfriend's parents is like saying you're ready for the next stage in the relationship," said Jin.
"If you're that old fashioned, you won't have a girlfriend now. Might as well wait for your parents to match you up, hyung," commented Namjoon.
"Stop bickering, you two," Hoseok held both of his hands to Namjoon and Jin, as Jin was about to fire back at Namjoon. "I'm running out of time. What can I get for Sunhee's mom at this short notice? Help," pleaded Hoseok.
"I have something she might like. Let's go to my studio," said Namjoon, moving fast to his room. He unlocked the door and went straight to the corner, where he fetched a paper bag and passed it to Hoseok "Here, take this. This might work."
Hoseok looked inside the paper bag and looked at Namjoon with stars in his eyes. "Namjoon-ah, you're a life-saver," he gushed. "I owe you one," said Hoseok and he went out of Namjoon's studio right away. Jin and Namjoon looked at the door without having the chance of saying anything at all. Hoseok was gone in a flash.
Hoseok drove as fast as the city speed limit permitted him. What should he say to Sunhee's mom when he met her? She sounded nice on the phone. He could carry a conversation with anyone just fine, but what can he say to his girlfriend's mother, who saw the hickeys he left on her daughter earlier that morning? He ran through the possible options he had.
