Sunday came.
Sunhee looked around the bakery as she put the final item in the box. All of the big equipment was transported out to a temporary storage facility throughout the renovation process. The bakery was empty and ready for the next stage. The construction for that area will start the next day. She already gave Jaesuk the extra set of keys she had of the bakery, and she was good to go.
Sunhee checked the list that she had on her phone, making sure she didn't miss anything. There were a lot of things to do for the grand re-opening of the bakery during the renovation. The bakery operations would not stop completely during the construction. She already rented a commercial kitchen throughout the renovation process, so the bakery would only cater to small orders from there.
Sehun would be filling in for Choi Yong for the time being. Sunhee and Haewon would be in charge of the marketing and promotional works. Another new staff would be joining them for the role of barista and waiter during that. Haewon would oversee the training as she's a certified barista.
Sunhee visited Choi Yong at her family house. Choi Yong and Juri were staying with her family on the outskirt of Seoul. Hojun was still out on the loose and the police were keeping Choi Yong and her girl under surveillance. Choi Yong's family lives in a close-knit neighbourhood where everyone takes care of each other. She would be safer there than anywhere else. Her life was still in danger as long as Hojun was not caught. He was good at covering his track and the authority was doing the best they could to find him.
Choi Yong apologised to Sunhee for putting Sunhee in trouble and promised to come back to work after her medical leave was up. She was determined to get back on her foot quickly even when Sunhee gave her more time to recuperate. Hoseok didn't get to see Choi Yong personally after the incident, but he sent her some help through the support and therapy session she needed to survive the aftermath of the years of abuse.
The bruise on the outside would heal fast. It's the wound inside took more time to mend. One thing Sunhee knew for sure, Choi Yong was determined to bounce back. Losing the baby was hard on her but she needed to think for Juri, too. She was still wary of people around her, and it was all because of Hojun. She's also in the process of getting a divorce, but that would be difficult since Hojun was not found. She needed to find her old self - the one who smiles freely without any fear of being punished for it. It would take time, but it is possible. Sunhee promised to help Choi Yong along the way.
Sunhee yawned as she entered her home after the visit. She went to the cupboard and fixed herself a cup of chamomile tea. Choi Yong wasn't the only one affected by the incident. Sunhee's insomnia was rearing back again. Sunhee already cut down her caffeine and alcohol intake and it wasn't helping much. She knew she had to set an appointment with her psychiatrist and she planned to do it the next day.
She had to get ready for the date at Hoseok's house tonight. She already baked Hoseok's favourite rolls and bought herself a new dress for the occasion. They didn't get to talk much after the day she helped Choi Yong. He returned home when Sunhee woke up and went to work. She was counting down to the minute she was going to see him again. She was keen to find out the main reason Hoseok did not lease the apartment off to someone else. He was practically dangling that place to her all the time and she just didn't care that much about it. She will find that out tonight.
Sunhee took a shower and washed her hair. She turned on the music and sang along to the song as she dressed up. She was spraying the perfume when the doorbell rang. Sunhee looked at the time. She was not expecting anyone and it was late for the delivery service to send anything at that hour.
Sunhee went to the intercom to check and was surprised to see Hoseok at the door. That was quite odd as they were supposed to meet at his house. The fact he was using the doorbell was suspicious too as he already knew the passkey.
