It was the second day of the BTS World Tour: Love Yourself concert in Seoul and everyone was getting busy preparing for the performance.
The stage was set, the BTS ARMY lining up to get into the Olympic stadium and booths were opened for the merchandise. Backstage, BTS was getting ready along with their managers, directors and other crews who were directly involved with the grand-scale performance. The stylist and make-up artist were going in and out of the dressing room making sure everything was lined up. Tension was running high and perfection is the key.
Hoseok went through the setlist with the other members and pointed out the things they have to take note of. It was the same thing they did the day before and they had to make sure whatever mistakes they did were not repeated. They had done their rehearsals countless times and did the soundcheck. There were things that they have to keep in mind, especially on their position during choreography and the space that was available for them to move around so that they won't mess up or run into each other. Accidents do happen and they hope to avoid that throughout the show.
BTS was getting ready for the stage at the dressing room and Hoseok was sitting next to Jin as the make-up artist was working on him. It had been more than a week since the day he went to Odaesan and he hadn't heard anything from Sunhee. He sent her messages when he could, but it was left without any reply. She didn't even read those messages. He knew she's already back in Seoul and he was giving her the time to think. He second-guessed himself, wondering if he should get back to Sunhee and give her an exact time frame for her to come to her decision. He knew he shouldn't do that either. What if she needed a year to think?
He would definitely go nuts.
Hoseok shook off his thoughts. He's better off focusing on his work. He looked at the other people in the room through the mirror in front of him. Everyone was doing their best. He turned to Jin abruptly when he heard Jin talking loudly on the phone.
"I told you I can get you a better seat if you tell me you're coming," said Jin. "I get it you want to join in with everyone but what can you see from the second floor? I'm just a dot from that side."
"Hope hyung, who is Jin hyung talking to?" asked Jimin who sat on Hoseok's other side.
"I have no idea," replied Hoseok.
"Looks like he's about to go on a fight," said Jimin.
"How much did you have to pay for that seat? Was it a scalper?" asked Jin again. "No, no, baby, I'm not angry. Don't go home," said Jin suddenly as he toned down his voice.
Hoseok and Jimin turned to each other and said at once. "Youra."
Jin was caught dating earlier that year and it was quite a buzz. Jin was the only one who the public know who's in a relationship. His girlfriend's identity was hidden as she's also a public servant who works as a teacher. He and his girlfriend, Youra managed to get that under control especially with Youra's dad's influence. Youra's not a daughter of an average salaryman. Her dad's one of the leading men in the logistics business in the country.
"You only have to pay that much? Seriously at the last minute?" asked Jin again. "Baby, I'm so happy you met a true ARMY. Send me a picture of her so I can get her a gift or even an autograph of her bias later. I can ask the staff's help to get it to her after this."
"Trouble averted," commented Jimin to Hoseok. Hoseok nodded in agreement.
"Who did you say her bias is?" asked Jin again. "Hope? Okay," Jin turned to Hoseok, knowing Hoseok heard everything. He signalled for Hoseok to sign an autograph as a favour which Hoseok had no trouble relenting to.
"Get me a pen and something I could sign on," said Hoseok willingly. One of the staff went on and gave him what he needed.
"Wait," said Jin stopping Hoseok from signing. "Can you write 'I heart you'?" asked Jin.
"Yaaa, hyung, that's taking your gratitude a bit too much, don't you think?" protested Hoseok.
"Come on, just this time," pleaded Jin. "I don't think that ARMY know who Youra is and it would be a pleasant surprise for her if she actually gets something from you."
"Okay, fine," said Hoseok as he scribbled away. Hoseok signed it and passed it to the staff.
He then looked at his image in the mirror. The hairstylist was working on his hair then. Everyone could hear the fans clamouring and singing along to their music video that was played before the show. Time was drawing near.
"Hoseok-ah," called Jin again. He was smiling like a Cheshire cat and Hoseok felt odd.
"What is it hyung?"
"This one is for you," said Jin as he passed his phone to Hoseok. It was a video that Youra sent to Jin.
A huge smile broke his face when he saw it and he sent it to his phone immediately. "Hyung, I owe you one," he said.
"For sure," said Jin knowingly. "Let's do our best today, shall we?" said Jin as they stood from their chairs.
"Definitely," replied Hoseok as he draped his arm across Jin.
It was one heck of a show.
