〡 twenty-one 〡

Madelyn woke up and turned over to see her boyfriend Ben sound asleep, she smiles and kissed his head before getting up and going to the bathroom. she looked at herself she had satin pyjamas on and her long hair down and she brushed her teeth.

a body slowly comes behind her and she smile looking at the reflection in the mirror and spun around, "hello beautiful" Benjamin said kissing her head and then brushing his teeth as well.

Madelyn blushed and placed her tooth brush on the counter turning and facing him, "hey i said i would meet up with Kie and talk and i have work today but i'll see you tonight?" Madelyn asks softy.

"my parents need me to help unpack so it will have to wait till tomorrow, sorry baby" a pout came to her face and she nodded leaving the bathroom and getting changed before Benjamin came back in.

she looked at him and released he was only wearing some grey sweatpants and admired his body before quickly looking away hiding her blush, he chuckled and walked behind her kissing her head and she handed him his shirt.

the rest of the day went by and Madelyn and Kie had spent the day shopping not worrying about pogues or anything else, they soon found a little cafe and sat down having some ice coffee.

"hey so how is everything with Ben?" Kie asks the girl, the sound of his name made Madelyn blush and Kie knew the answer to her question, "what about you and John b? anything going on there?" Madelyn said trying to change the subject, "you know the rule no pogue on pogue making, besides i'm pretty sure Sarah is with John b" Madelyn froze and giggled to herself.

"damn she is still with my brother" the two girls went silent and then laughed, Kie held up her coffee and they both nodded clunking them together, "the only good part about being part kook, the coffee" Madelyn giggled and Kie joined shortly after.

"hey ugh how is Jj?" Madelyn asked placing her drink down, "ugh normal i guess but he has seemed a little off i am not sure why though, why what's up?" Kie responded crossing her legs and sitting back in her chair.

"ugh nothing it's stupid i just... i don't know i can't get him out of my head. is it bad that i can't because i'm with Ben?" Madelyn asks worryingly and Kie gives her a reassuring smile, "no no of course it's not wrong you are just thinking i mean that last time you saw him was at midsummers when you ran off cry- sorry ugh"

"no no it fine i just didn't know what to do but it's all good now" Madelyn took her hand and Kie smiled, "what about Pope you know he doesn't stop talking about you" Madelyn leaned back in her chair and Kie rolled her eyes laughing.

"i'm sorry your staying where?" Kie asks as the group was at the wreck and Madelyn said she would help with a couple shifts because it was a bit busy, "tannyhill" John b replied looking at a map Sarah Cameron gave him and Madelyn was wiping over tables.

"so now your living with her? ever after what happened last night?" Madelyn looked over confused and then grabbed a tray collecting glasses, "what happened last night?" Madelyn asks and John b turns his head towards her.

"i got the map from Sarah like i said i would and then Topper pushed me out of a tree" Madelyn froze and Kie hit John b in the shoulder, "my brother Topper?" Madelyn said with a shaking voice.

Kie sat her down and took the tray off her and John b looked at her with empathy, "are you ok what happened?" Madelyn grabs John b's hand and looks at him trying to find an injury and then looks at his cast around his wrist "omg John b i'm so sorry"

Madelyn's face falls and John b hugs her tightly, "wait so your living at the Cameron's?" Madelyn asked tilting her head a little, "yeah her dad bailed me out, it was that or foster care"

Madelyn stands up and walks over to the table where Jj and Pope are relaxing trying to sit away from Jj because even if she was with Ben she knew that it was wrong but she couldn't stop thinking of Jj.

"so do you have like a golf cart now that you can go around in?" Jj asked sitting next to her trying not to make eye contact, "yeah does it come with a sweater-vest, or do you have to buy one of your own?" Pope said smoking him and John b rolled his eyes at the immature boys.

"look you promised you said you weren't with her John b" a Kie said seriously and he shrugged leaning back on a chair not knowing what to say next, "look if you wanna hang out with her, that's fine but i'm letting you know right now that i am not doing anything with Sarah Cameron of all people"

it was hard for Madelyn to listen to her friends talk about her other friends like that but it's hard when you have friends from both sides of the island so she decided to push it all down and stay quiet, "ok do you guys see her here? no okay, a little focus would be fantastic. we got the map right"

John b looked at aj and he shrugged, "it's out of whack cause the guy was a ganja'd when he drew it" he put the smoke in his mouth and Madelyn looked at him making eye contact and then breaking it as quickly as possible, "it's cause the coast has changed since then" Madelyn said pointing to a landmark.

"Battery Jasper" Kie said and the crew quickly drove over their without a thought, Pope was looking at the map but you and John were focused on the view not listening to the others, "so your with him now?" Jj asked touching the bridge of his nose.

"ugh yeah i guess we are" Madelyn said in an unsure tone and he noticed looking towards her, "you don't seem sure about that?" he said to the girl, before she could answer the group called them over to show them something important.

"we are looking for an old stone wall" Pope said and they got into the van driving around into the woods. Jj, Madelyn and a Kie sat in the back while Pope was driving and John b tried to direct him.

Madelyn tried to stay away from Jj but the bumps in the road caused her to keep moving closer, soon the car stopped and the group got out looking at a big mansion, "not the chains house" John b said unsure of what was coming.

"are you kidding me?" the girls said at the same time and Jj stood behind Madelyn making her jump when he tried to hold her hand and she moved away, he gave her a weird look and mouthed the words are you ok? but Madelyn didn't notice and looked at the house in front of them.

"why here of all places?" Pope said and he held his head in his hands, "i heard that Mes. Drains buried her husband's head on the property"Jj said and Madelyn hit his arm making him laugh, "what? it's true" he responded and they all looked back up at the house.
