You weren't there to see Ron and Hermione marry. You weren't there when they got kids. You lived on only within their memories - Ron's memories.
He kept your legacy alive, visiting your grave every Christmas and birthday, just cherishing the memory of you. He remembered your stupid signature grin as you passed him in the hallways, and how just glancing at each other got you both laughing.
You were there for him just as much as Harry and Hermione were. You just weren't seen as much, as you weren't as close to Harry. But you fought back. You chose to fight back. And after the first few weeks from your death, Ron blamed himself for letting you fight back. Hermione and Harry got him convinced that he didn't force you into anything, and that it would have been hurtful for you if he had told you to stop fighting. "Staying quiet would be the same as accepting the situation", that's what you had said when your friend had asked about it after you talked back to Umbridge on your fifth year.
There was so much he never got to experience with you, so many adventures. Memories which could never become true. You had wanted to work at the Ministry, travel the world and be an ambassador for the Ministry of Magic of England. You had so many dreams left unachieved.
It felt like an eternity had passed since you met. But it still felt like it had happened just yesterday. You had bumped into him in the hallways during your second day at school, dropping all your schoolwork and Ron helped you pick them up. That little interaction and short small talk had ignited a friendship which was supposed to burn on forever.
But it didn't - and in Ron's memories, you'd be forever young.
