It had gone by so fast.
One moment you were there with Percy and your boyfriend deflecting curses, and the next moment you saw your own body lying on a ground, seeing a glimpse of Fred running over you and shaking you, before you were called off. You had to leave.
You didn't want to leave, but you had to.
Next, you were pushed through the doors to a large hall, full of people from Hogwarts. Some gasped as they saw you approach, and you saw your best friend pushing past a group of people.
"Cam?" you asked her as you looked around. "Where are we?"
Cam took in a shaky breath, before hugging you tightly. "We didn't make it."
You stiffened up when she said that and pulled away "What do you mean? We're here. We're all here."
Cam shook her head. "I saw Tyler die. A death eater hit him with the death curse and he fell out from the window... and now he's there." she looked towards the corner where you saw Cam's brother, his head in his hands and shaking as someone rubbed his back comfortingly. Your eyes widened as reality hit in.
"I have to go back," you muttered as you turned around, but Cam grabbed your hand.
"Y/N-"
"I have to go back, I can't leave them!"
"It's over. We're gone."
"No, there has to be a-"
Cam took a hold of your biceps and shook you. "Merlin, Y/N! Listen to me, we're gone!" her head dipped down and you saw a tear coming out from her eye, as she muttered, "We can't go back anymore. I tried. We all tried. But it's no use."
You looked back at her in horror, and the panic started to fade away, replaced by devastation. "I left everyone behind." you muttered with a sob.
"We all did."
"Y/N?" you suddenly heard and turned around to see Fred standing there.
"Fred?"
"I thought... What-" he didn't get to finish before you had already crashed yourself against him, sobbing against his shirt. He looked puzzled, quickly glancing around the room before he pushed you away to make you look at him. "What's happening?"
"We're gone. We're gone." was all you could say, before you buried your face on Fred's shirt again.
You hadn't expected to stand there, being able to talk to him again. Maybe it was selfish and cruel, but you were happy that you wouldn't have to be alone when you'd finally cross over.

FanfictionAt the moment, I'm out of the HP fandom/not writing for them because of the constant toxicity I encountered with people who interacted with my Wizarding World content/requested anything for it, and I'm unsure whether I'll ever come back. But here's...
