The Doctor, you, and Bill hide behind a massive Monk statue in front of the University, waiting until one passes through the grounds. You can tell he's nervous, the way his hands twitch, the nervous expression on his face.
"You don't have to do this." Bill says, laying a hand on his arm to pull him back.
"I have to do this. I have to open the Vault." He decidedly says, running across the field to the basement door.
He unlocks it with a key, running down the stairs into a very dark room. It's lit only by some electronic keypads on a massive metal Vault. You and Bill exchange a look before following him down.
"Move into the containment field, please." The Doctor orders.
He pulls something out of his pocket, pointing at it until four locks come out. A thumbprint, keypad, mechanical dial ring, and key. You make a face at Bill, one of 'how does no one know about this?' and 'Isn't this quite a bit of security?' She shrugs. Once he's finished, the door swings inwards.
You quietly gasp at how large it is, definitely bigger than the front. Bill doesn't even seem to notice, and the Doctor just sits in a leather armchair. Several pieces of furniture are scattered across the room, along with several large windows, which doesn't make sense, being in a basement.
What surprises you the most is the woman with her back to you, dressed in some purple Victorian-century clothes and playing a grand piano. You assume she must've done something, or many things, to be locked up like this.
"But it's, it's just a woman." Bill states, a bit confused.
She stops playing the piano and turns her head, eyeing Bill and you, face one of un-amusement. Her eye stays on your hand, and you realize she must be looking at your ring. You fold your arms, looking to the Doctor for an explanation.
"God, the way you and Nardole have been carrying on, I thought you had some kind of monster in here, or something!" Bill sighs in relief.
"I do." He gravely answers. "Missy, Bill and Y/n. Bill and Y/n, Missy, the other... Last of the Time Lords."
Time Lords? You have a feeling that's either a cult or... some type of alien race. At this point, the alien theory really doesn't seem surprising.
"Care to explain why you have a woman locked in a vault?" You question.
"She's going cold turkey from being bad."
Missy lets out a disapproving sound, turning back to her piano.
"I want to ask if you've had any dealings with the Monks before." He questions.
"Of course. I've had adventures too. My whole life doesn't revolve around you, you know." She answers in a Scottish accent. Something about this woman, the way she simply acts careless about the entire situation...
"Did you defeat them?" Bill immediately asks.
"I did." She nods.
"How?" You add, studying her.
She lets out a small smirk, turning to the Doctor. It wouldn't be as easy as a step-by-step explanation, of course. "I've got some requests. I want some new books, some toys, like a... particle accelerator, a 3-D printer and a pony."
"I don't think you really grasp what's going on here. Nice people don't generally haggle over the fate of a planet." The Doctor sighs. You stifle a laugh.
"I once built a gun out of leaves. Do you think I couldn't get through a door if I wanted to?" She stands up, putting one hand on her waist and the other on the piano lid.
