You're walking through the town one morning when you see Jade supervising a group of young children on a playground. She has a smile on her face, looking very content. A little girl with jet black hair runs up to her, placing a white lily behind her ear. Jade smiles, wrapping her in a hug.
While the parents are all out flaunting all over each other, the teenagers see through what's happening. That's why far more have 'disappeared' than anyone else, but no adults actually notice. They join together, refusing to be torn apart. It's really quite laughable. The children are too young to pick up on it, having more fun on the playgrounds together.
The redhead looks up, waving to you. She says something to the others, and they wave as well with happy smiles.
"Care to join us?" Jade calls, the young ones calling in agreement.
"I have matters to attend to." You respond, though you do pull out a fake smile.
You turn around, heading back to the mines. Everyone on the streets immediately steps out of your way, some giving small waves or smiles. You never respond. You have one destination in mind.
The mines are full of rocks and dirty workers. They're working the old-fashioned Earth way, pickaxes and occasional dynamite. You leave your coat at the entrance, wearing a long-sleeve black shirt that hugs your figure, complimented with Missy's boots. It's been about two months since that night on the beach, and you're still holding onto your own words. You don't know why, but something just draws you to her.
Come and find me...
More than anything you hope she does. It's a new feeling, actually having an obvious weakness. A flickering candle so strong, yet able to be blown out in an instant. Her sarcastic humor, teasing looks, unique sense of fashion... it all drags you in.
In the mines you're welcomed with a chorus of metal on rocks, workers groaning, some passed out from exhaustion. You step on their hands. No one dares to quit working to help. The first & last to do that faced dismissal, forever.
All of them are stick-thin with greasy hair. The stench of the lot makes you wince.
"Please, can we rest?" A man, maybe 16, begs. He's covered with dust from head to toe, hair overgrown and sticking out in all directions. You recognize him as one of the leaders of a teenage protest about two moons ago. He's one of the only left from that group.
"Find me that last pocket gas, and you'll all be put to rest." You lowly retort, not bothering to stop and look him in the eye.
"You can't do that to us! Last time we lost over half of the workers!" He cries, following you. This time you do stop, spinning around to look him directly in the eyes.
"You should've thought about that before you chose to question my work. Now, back. to. work." You wickedly smile, leaving him to it.
You sense the swing before it hits you. The blade flies from your calf to your hand, striking the boy down before the pickax even hits midair. No one seems to notice, ambushes have become a regular occurrence over the last few weeks. Not one has even come close to succeeding, this one by far the most pitiful. You keep walking, further down the tunnel.
Six gases absorbed by a crystal. Once the crystal shatters, all hell breaks loose. Together the gases dismantle the very base of life, atom by atom, completely torn apart. A very slow, painful, irreversible death. The best part, it doesn't even leave a trace. The blonde won't ever know what happened to her beloved human race.
Call it your revenge on the Doctor, wiping out her favorite planet.
You've let the Tenctrama keep the mines in order after they wiped out the anti-religious army, allowing them to feed on the casualties. It's just enough to keep them going. Jade lives among the Aqi, playing with the children & telling stories of Earth. She doesn't have a clue what's really going on, believing you're actually helping them!
