You're walking around the back of the building, looking at the tools when you see the Doctor storming up to you.
"What was that?" She demands, definite anger in her eyes.
"I was only giving him a compliment." You say, twirling a hammer.
"That was not a compliment! He feels bad enough as it is." She scolds.
"He shouldn't, how often to humans in this time period actually get to start an alien invasion?"
The Doctor shakes her head, walking away. "You're unbelievable." She mutters, walking away.
"I do my best." You smile.
Growing bored, you toss the hammer back on the table wander back to the front of the building.
"Oh!" The Doctor jumps up, "I could build one, I'm good at building things. Probably." She thinks, running past you.
You take a deep breath, following her back to the workshop area you just came from. She immediately starts grabbing a bunch of tools, lining them up on a workbench.
"You don't look like an alien." Graham comments.
"You should've seen me a few hours back. My whole body changed. Every cell in my body burning. Some of them are still at it now. Reordering, regenerating." She explains.
"Sounds painful, love." Grace remarks, looking quite concerned.
"You have no idea." She looks up, "There's this moment when you're sure you're about to die and then... you're born. It's terrifying. Right now, I'm a stranger to myself. There's echoes of who I was, and sort of call towards who I am, and I have to hold my nerve and trust all these new instincts. Shape myself towards them. I'll be fine, in the end. Hopefully." She winces.
"Well, I have to be because you guys need help. And if there is one thing I'm certain of, when people need help, I never refuse. Right," She nods, "this is going to be fun!" She perkily closes the curtain, leaving you alone with Graham and Grace.
Both of them huddle up together, looking at you warily. Like they're actually afraid of you, and it's the best feeling in the world.
Several flashing lights and sparking sounds come behind the curtain, and you wonder if the Doctor might actually burn this place to the ground. Based on how hyperactive she's been so far, it wouldn't surprise you.
When you saw the eyebrows change into a blonde, you hadn't fully recognised that her entire personality had changed with it. Really, you don't know how you feel about it. The blonde is far better than the grey, but she seems far too childish.
Eventually, though it's not really that long, she opens the curtain, clunky goggles on her face.
"Ta-da!" She proudly holds up what appears to be a new sonic screwdriver, turning it on. It lights up a golden-orange, then zaps her. "Oh. Should be fine." She shrugs.
"You sure?" You skeptically wince.
"Have a little more faith!" She exclaims.
"Not happening." You mutter under your breath, looking up as Ryan runs in.
"Hey, we found a loud of stuff." He calls.
The Doctor takes off her goggles, putting them in her pocket and runs after him. He leads you to a small office, some pictures of kids on the wall and a computer on the desk. Yaz is looking heartbroken, clicking play the moment you all walk in.
"It's come back." A younger looking man with darker hair fills the screen. "The thing I saw the night my sister... Everyone always says she disappeared, but I know she was taken." You pace the room, one end to the other, only half listening.
