Chapter Nineteen - The Storm's Repose

The heroes have finally arrived.

When All Might appears, the heavy atmosphere lightens and relief ripples through students and teachers alike. If All Might is here, they'll be ok.

The towering hero takes one look over the scene, feeling his blood boil. "Fear not," he says, bringing his hand up to rip his tie off, "I am here!" The phrase hangs in the air as some students break and fall to their knees, tears of relief burning in their eyes.

Though, there was one thing that was off about all this. All Might was not smiling. It's somehow equal parts disturbing and comforting.

He leaps from the stairs, and in the blink of an eye, all the small-time villains were down and out. 

Abby can feel her knees begin to buckle, and she lowers next to Aizawa, tears brimming her eyes. Letting loose a shaky breath, she let her head fall into her hands. They were going to be ok.

But she also knew the fight wasn't over yet.

An idea pops into her head, and she looks up to gauge Shigaraki and Kurogiri's positions. As the gears worked in her head, trying to map out her idea, she was picked up and moved at a rapid pace. 

When he sets her down, her left knee buckles. A few drops of crimson hit the ground, and Abby remembers her close encounter with the Nomu. 

Tsuyu helps her stand as she staggers while trying to stand back up. She looks worried. Who could blame her? Abby would be worried too, if she was in Tsuyu's position.

She can barely get a thanks out before All Might tells them to go- to meet up with their classmates at the top of the stairs. He can handle these guys.

They start to- but only after Midoriya starts to rapidly say something to the number one hero. They're not sure what he's getting at- except Abby- but All Might only dismisses Midoriya's concerns. He gives a thumbs up before he gets ready to fight.

Midoriya and Mineta take Aizawa while Tsuyu continues to help Abby. They begin to walk away, but Midoriya keeps glancing back. He's lost in thought and looks conflicted, Abby knows why. It's only when they're a few meters away that he finally stops and looks back fully. 

All Might is half-way through a portal with the Nomu clutching his sides- his weak, injured side especially. It sets the freckled boy off as he hands Aizawa to Tsuyu, who has to let Abby go in order to hold their teacher.

Midoriya can't stand the thought of All Might dying.

When he takes off running, Abby grunts as she tries to take a step forward. She doesn't want him to go alone. She can't let him go alone.

Tsuyu gives her another worried look. "You shouldn't go, you're injured." She says, voice hopeful that she'll come with.

Grimacing, Abby watches Midoriya go. There's a tug in her chest and an ache in her heart. "He's going to... get hurt too.." It's all she can say before she goes after him, ignoring the dull ache of her leg.
