Chapter Twelve - Welcome to U.A!
~
"Heya-"
A few thuds and a distant curse filled the quiet morning. Footsteps came padding to the bedroom door before it was thrown open.
"Morning Aizawa!"
The scene he walked into was Kayla climbing into the window and Abby laying in a pile on the floor. He pinched his nose as he sighed, shaking his head. "Jesus Christ," he whispered, "why are you here?"
As Kayla finished climbing into the room, Abby sat up and frowned, rubbing her head. Her messy hair was knotted from wearing a hoodie to bed.
"Oh, y'know, coming to get Abby." She replied as if she didn't just break in through the window.
He only stared at her before gesturing to the pile of Abby and her blankets. "She's not even awake yet."
"She is now!" Kayla said, grinning as she pointed to her friend.
They both turned to Abby, who gave Kayla a flat expression. Clearly, she wasn't very happy about the rude awakening.
"Aww, c'mon, don't give me that look!" Kayla walked over and grabbed onto the edge of one of her blankets. "You wanna get to school early to look around, don't you?" Just as she asked, she pulled the blanket.
Abby tumbled before jumping up, nearly slipping on the blanket, then falling onto her bed. She rubbed her eyes before sighing and sitting up, looking like she hadn't slept in days. Kayla was sure she never got a full night's sleep.
"Now that's the Abby I know, you're usually up at the crack of dawn!" Kayla laughed, throwing the blanket onto the edge of her bed.
All Abby did was point outside, then at the digital clock on her nightstand. The green numbers showed the time. 5:30 a.m.
"Oh, I guess I was pretty excited to get up and go to school." Kayla rubbed the back of her head sheepishly, chuckling as both Abby and Aizawa sighed.
~Skip~
Kayla half-dragged Abby out of Aizawa's apartment, grinning from ear to ear as she marched down the hallway. "Aren't you excited!? I know I am!" They didn't leave for an hour, and it was nearly 7 in the morning by the time they left. Abby was adamant that she make them all breakfast, knowing Kayla's bad habit of not eating, something Aizawa also had a bad habit of.
Abby could only frown as she took her hand from her friend's grasp, but jogged to start walking beside her. Her notepad had a messy scrawl on it since it was hard to walk and write at the same time.
"Aw, I forgot you lost your voice again. Do you know when it's coming back?" Kayla asked, stopping to open the door for Abby and her.
She scribbled down a reply before showing it to her as she walked outside. As Kayla took the notepad and began to step out, Abby held the door for her.
Kayla began to walk as she read it. "Dang, a few more days?" She handed the notepad back to her red-headed friend and waited for her to write some more. "Ah, two at most? That's good! It's gonna get pretty tiring having to wait for you to write everything down."
