Chapter Eight - Here, Have a Kid
"Please call me Kayla or I will yeet myself out of a window,"

*A week earlier*
"So," Kayla started, leaning forward to get a better look at the man behind the wheel, "I'll be living with you, eh?"
Glancing into the rearview mirror, Aizawa suppressed a groan. This was the fifteenth time she'd asked in the short time they've been in the car. He was already tired of taking care of a kid.
"Yes," he finally answered, wishing she'd be quiet for at least five minutes.
'This is only the first day...' He was starting to regret letting Nedzu make this decision. He questioned it at first, but knew he'd only get a lecture if he pushed it. How was he supposed to take care of a teenage girl when he barely took care of himself? Why was he the one taking care of a kid anyway? Hizashi could've done better.
"Hey, do you have anything to eat? I'm hungry."
He groaned this time and hit his head against his steering wheel. Then he swerved to miss a car and cursed. 'God kill me now,'

Day 2
~
6:45 a.m.
Kayla and Aizawa sat in the kitchen in silence for a while. "Do you have any coffee?" Kayla asked finally, breaking the silence after what felt like hours. She wanted some, but she wasn't sure she should ask. Not knowing if he had any, she was surprised by his answer.
"No," He said as he furrowed his brows. Why did kids like coffee so much?
"Damn," she shook her head, "how the fuck do you survive?"
Looking over his newspaper, he made eye contact before speaking. "I wish I didn't,"
"Lmao, mood." She leaned back in her chair while crossing her arms, nodding along with her words. She still wanted coffee, but she felt scared to ask for money to buy some. She wasn't sure he even had a coffee maker.
Pinching the bridge of his nose, he sighed. "Why are you like this,"
"Why not?" She grinned, giving him finger guns before crossing her arms again.
8:35 p.m.
Aizawa woke up to a clattering in the kitchen and shot out of his sleeping bag. What the hell happened? Was she hurt? Did someone break in? He stumbled into the kitchen entrance before seeing the scene in front of him. Kayla stood in the middle of a pile of broken glass.
"Motherfucker," she said as she stared at the glass.
"Language, also," he pointed to the glass, "what the hell did you do?"
"Mc' Scuse me bitch? Hypocritical much?"
He only gave her a look before he sighed, realizing why the dishes fell. He didn't put them away right when he washed the dishes the other day. He told himself he'd fix them but never did. Guess he forgot.
