Time Skip: The U.A. Entrance Exams

"Wakey wakey listener! Time to get up and eat breakfast yo!"
Groaning, Kayla pulled her pillow over her head and ears. She tried to say something, but her words slurred so he couldn't make anything out.
"Aw, c'mon! You gotta get up for the entrance exams, yeah!?" He all but yelled, his voice booming to her poor ears. Though she was used to this, early mornings were never great.
She only groaned again. Then his words processed and she shot up just as he took a deep inhale.
"DON'T YOU DARE USE YOUR QUIRK TO WAKE ME UP!"
He laughed and shook his head, then walked to her door and grinned. "Better get ready! Don't wanna go on an empty stomach, do ya?"
Huffing, she pushed the locks of curls away from her face and sighed. Better get ready for the day.
By the time she was dressed and ready to go, she was practically bouncing off the walls. When she made it into the kitchen, Present Mic couldn't help but laugh as she skipped to the table. "I've got this in the bag! I c-" she caught herself before she could slip and say anything about robots, then sent him a bigger grin. "Whatever they send at me, I can take it!"
He only matched her enthusiasm and flexed his arms as he watched her do the same. "You'll do great, little listener!"
She chuckled before getting herself some coffee, then sat and ate breakfast with Mic before they both had to leave.
"I'm so nervous! But I'm excited at the same time!"
Present Mic laughed as he stopped at a stoplight. "The entrance exam is no joke! I'm sure you'll do just fine though, after all you've been training for a while now!"
Kayla grinned and nodded as she clenched her fists. "I'll shoot for first place! That'll give me some motivation!"
He chuckled as he started driving again, glancing at her for a moment. "I think you're one of the only kids I know that's so pumped for this."
"Well, I might see my friend here! I don't know if she's taking the exam or not, but I hope she'll be there! Trust me, she'll be a good hero if she comes here!" Her eyes sparkled as she grinned. "I'll be a great hero too! We'll work hard!"
He didn't say anything, but he smiled. He hoped her friend decided to go, for her sake.
A song Kayla knew came onto the radio and she turned the volume up to sing along.
The rest of the drive was filled with singing and laughter.

"Hey, Eraserhead!" Present Mic grinned as he easily caught up to his friend. "You ready to watch all the new students get fired up!?"
The black haired man frowned before sighing. "I just want to sleep."
Laughing, Mic continued walking before he remembered something. "Oh! How's that kiddo of yours doing? Is she taking the exams?"
This caught his attention as he turned to him with furrowed brows. "She's doing fine. She's not here taking the exams though, she's staying home."
"Aww, Kayla was pretty excited to see if she was here! Maybe she'll change her mind and come!" Mic said, then opened the door to the exam room. "Well, I gotta get some stuff prepared, see ya later Eraser!"
Frowning as he continued to the lounge to sit for a while. Did he ask if she wanted to take the exams? Or did he assume she didn't want to take them?
~
Man, I don't see her in here. Then again, it's hard to see with so many people sitting around.
Kayla sighed as she leaned back in her chair. She'd been trying to spot her friend, but it was more difficult than she first thought. This room was huge! The announcements were starting just as the last few students were cramming into whatever seat they could find.
Maybe I'll find her in the battle grounds.
~
"HAHAHA C'MERE YOU GIANT HEAP OF METAL!"
The sight was definitely one to behold. Kayla with her arms covered in flames, jumping at robots and melting them, or going through them to get to the next one. She clawed her way to the head of one of the robots surrounding her and melted the side of its head before burning the wires. She then jumped and swung on it's arm, propelling herself to the next robot. She continued this until there were no robots left around her.
"Come at me metalheads! I'll melt you into a puddle!" She yelled, clenching her fists as a few people around sweatdropped. Through the rest of the time, she powered through and defeated as many robots as she could. By the end of the exam, she couldn't remember how many points she got, all she knew was she did a good job.
Once out of the mock city, she grinned and pumped her (slightly burnt) fists and yelled. "THAT WAS AWESOME!! I WANNA GO AGAIN!!" A few people beside her jumped and turned to her with wide eyes. How could someone be so excited about destroying robots? They steered clear of her, but a few chuckled. At least there was someone who was pumped despite the odds.
Later, Kayla crashed and was sent to Recovery Girl's office.

A/N: Hey everyone, sorry it took so long for the chapter to get out. I've been busy with school going on now, and I might be getting a job. I want some money to buy merch ;-; (even if I don't need it).
Anyway, I tried my best to capture the characters personalities, but throughout this story, there's going to be people who are OOC.
