Chapter Twenty - Back to the Daily Grind~
Classes resumed two days after the attack of the USJ.
Many thought it was too soon, but the principal already came up with a reason to bring everyone back- and nobody went against the principle of UA. Now the campus was bustling with students and teachers alike, with a few new faces running security.
Early that morning, the teachers had a meeting about the Sports Festival. Despite the long, argumentive debate, the principal's word stood. The Sports Festival would continue. The students, of course, didn't know that yet.
Intense anxiety buffeted Class 1-A as they waited for class to begin. It was still early, but the more time went by, and the longer it took for students to file in, the more anxiety everyone felt.
Is Mr. Aizawa ok? What about Abby? Would they be healed enough to continue coming to UA?
The door opens and in comes Kayla, strangely quiet from her usual exuberant self.
Everyone greets her in their own way, except Bakugo- he's also been strangely quiet.
Mina and Ururaka greet and walk her to her seat, each giving Kayla a hug and saying how worried they were. The room is quiet again when they are done. There's only the small, distinct chatter between those who are too antsy to stay quiet.
Despite the heavy atmosphere, some students began to speak up, bringing up anything and everything just to fill the silence. The more people become more confident to talk, the lighter the air becomes.
Soon there were only two students missing.
When the door opens, everyone's gaze is immediately focused on the newcomer.
It's only Ojiro. He awkwardly closes the door and bows a little as a greeting, then shuffles to his seat.

Abby stared at her shoe with a lump in her throat and tears in her eyes. She didn't know why she was so frustrated by this- she really shouldn't have been. All she was doing was trying to put on her shoe.
Maybe the events from the USJ took a bigger toll on her than she first thought.
She forces the tears down and takes a deep breath, pushing through the pain in her throat. Class will start soon. She needs to get herself together. After another failed attempt to put her shoe on, someone steps in and helps her.
Her anxious savior is gone as soon as he's done- barely giving her time to say a 'thank you.'
She watches after him for a moment before going to class- she'll have to find a way to thank him later.
~~
When the door opens again, everyone's attention zips over to see who it is. As soon as Abby stumbles in, nearly dropping her bag and one of her crutches, there's the sound of chairs scraping against the floor.
Shoji is the first by her side, taking her bag so she can focus on her crutches, then it's Ojiro, who asks if she needs any help getting to her seat.
