↬Fate of a Thousand Years↫Baal x Reader

Before we start, I should give a little update about the writing portion of the contest I participated in (where I wrote 10 oneshots in 3 weeks). So....I got first place! Yay!

I had a lot of fun writing those oneshots and honestly, the contest gave myself an excuse to get off my lazy butt and actually work on writing instead of procrastinating (like I do with my other stories/books) lmao. 

Anyway...since we don't really know all that much about Baal's backstory (other than what we already know) and what her true motives are, my mind decided to go "what if..." and this oneshot was born from my fantasizing. :^)

Oh and some spoilers for the second half of the Inazuma archon quests are in this too.

Approaching what used to be the bustling centre of Inazuma City before the Vision Hunt Decree was put into action, you looked around for the general goods store, grocery list in hand. Hailing from Konda Village, it'd only been a few weeks since you had the pleasure of meeting the blonde traveler and his flying friend and already you sensed that it was your duty to protect this mysterious outlander. All this brought you back to the reason why you were at the general goods store in the first place as Aether said he needed more Naku Weeds for a commission of his and you being the helpful soul you were, offered to grab more of the uncommon plant.

Upon seeing the cheerful owner of the store, Aoi, a small smile made its way on your lips and you greeted the lady.

"Good morning Y/n! What brings you here today?" she asked.

"I'd like to buy your whole stock of Naku Weeds, please," handing her a bag of mora, Aoi happily handed you a bundle of the purple-pink plant. You thanked her and quickly made your way out of the town back to Konda Village where Aether had told you to meet up.

As you passed the entrance to Inazuma City, you stumbled across a crowd of people right next to the Naganohara Fireworks shop. Caught by curiosity, your e/c orbs scanned the crowd, searching for the source of attention. It was then that you finally noticed that the people gathered around were listening to a middle aged man, a traveling storyteller. They seemed to be fully immersed in whatever story he was telling and you thought to yourself, it wouldn't hurt to stay and listen in for a bit.

"They were a visionless god, but that didn't stop Allocer from being just as strong as the other gods who could wield and control elemental power. Perhaps that was why Baal had been so intrigued and took a liking towards Allocer. It was even said that the two shared a deep relationship with each other, even during the Archon War."

At the mention of Baal, the Raiden Shogun's Archon name, you silently prayed that none of the Shogunate guards were around listening to the man's story. Her god name was seldom spoken amongst the people living in the land of electro as it was seen as disrespectful towards the almighty Shogun. And seeing as how the story this traveler was telling was one you'd never heard of during all the time you've lived in Inazuma, you feared that he was in danger of being arrested.

"Allocer taught all their followers and anybody willing to listen about immortality. They'd ramble on about the stars and all the mysteries of the sky in their spare time. One could even say that Allocer was like our modern day astrologist and philosopher with how much they would speak of immortality and the stars.

"Though no one can say for sure whether or not this was true, Baal was different around Allocer in that the two calmed each other like how friends might comfort one another. These gods were inseparable, however, the Archon War would change that.

"Only seven gods could become archons and rule over each nation of Teyvat. Allocer had no interest in this and stuck to their teachings. As strong as they were without wielding a vision, they were not strong enough to withstand the brutal battle of the Archon War and thus Allocer was struck down along with many other weak gods.
