Tw: death, mention of suicide, sad boi hours

Fun fact: Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 6 "Pathetique" was his last symphony he wrote. It was his suicide note. A week after the premiere, he gave his stuff away, sent letters to friends and family, then killed himself.

Learned this last year during orchestra hahaha...our conductor told us a very fun story about when he conducted the 3rd movement to Tchaikovsky's last symphony and the percussionists gathered all the crash cymbals they could and basically scared the shit out of him during the concert lmao.

Anyways, I'm not sorry for this. (totally not tired and wanting to go sleep as I publish this ehe)

The door loudly opened and all heads in the orchestra room turned to see the teal haired Venti arrive, slightly panting as if he had just ran all the way from the third floor to the first, which he did in fact just do. He greeted his fellow musician friends who all had their instruments out with a bright smile as they all greeted him back.

Standing in the first violin section were you and Diluc, holding your violins on your shoulders with your bows pointed downwards. From Venti's loud and grand entrance, your attention had been diverted to the said boy as you had previously been glued to the sheet music on the stand in front of you and Diluc.

"Sorry I'm late, teacher needed to talk to me about my last essay ehe," Venti sheepishly rubbed the back of his neck before making his way towards the covered harp near the violin section. Everyone in the room laughed at his reasoning and reassured him that it was fine. "Anyways, we're going over the third movement to Tchaikovsky's sixth symphony for our spring concert, right?"

"We were going to, but then Y/n over here brought up that they still remember fifty measures of Bach's Brandenburg Concerto No.3 in G major," Kazuha sighed from his seat in the cello section, slumping down in his chair next to Beidou who laughed. Thoma, who had his viola resting on his left leg nodded in agreement to this as you gave a grin towards your friends.

From beside you, red headed Diluc shook his head and said, "I still can't believe you have it memorized even after all these years."

Rolling your eyes, you made your way up to the conductor's podium, calling the attention of all your friends in the room as if their attention hadn't already been on you in the first place.

"I bet that even after another fifty years, I'll still have these same measures of the second violin part to the Brandenburg Concerto memorized," you smirked and looked over in Venti's direction as the male had just finished taking the cover off the harp. "Venti, you wanna play some improvised harp to accompany me?" Hearing this, Venti giggled and wagged his finger back and forth before skipping to the other side of the room where the harpsichord was placed next to the grand piano.

Resting his slender fingers over the thick, large black keys and thin, narrower white keys, he played a few quick riffs to get warmed up. Once he finished, the teal haired boy glanced over at you, ready whenever you were.

Taking in a deep breath, you positioned the horse hairs on your bow parallel to the bridge and fingerboard. You imagined the first few notes playing inside your head and placed your third and second finger down on the starting notes, creating a half step interval. With a dramatic sniff in paired with the upwards motion of your violin, you cued Venti in, closing your eyes to better "see" and feel the music.

The notes produced from your violin sounded better in tune than it did years ago when you were in elementary school. Even after all this time passed, none of the notes, bowings, or rhythms ever left your memory. As you played more and more pieces growing up, Bach's Brandenburg Concerto never disappeared and always stayed in the back of your mind. Even as you went on to pick up the bass and piano, you remembered each note that would come after the other.
