Danny waited out in the room while the nurse helped Autumn get washed up. He had went to her house to pick up her things while the investigator came out to speak with her. Autumn was being discharged from the hospital despite the pain she was in. She had asked the doctor if she could leave, he recommended that she stay for a few more days, but she was ready to get out of there. Danny tried to change her mind, but she insisted that she would be okay, well, she hoped that she would be.
When Autumn came out of the bathroom, she was dressed in pink joggers with white bunnies on them, a black oversized tee that had Casper the Friendly Ghost on it. Danny picked that one out when he was going through her closet. Autumn looked at him with her weary eyes, they both now had dark circles and bags under their eyes, only she looked quite rough on top of that. Her hair was wet and her feet were bare, Danny had forgotten to bring up a pair of socks with her clothes and shoes... He got up from the chair and motioned for her to have a seat so he could put her shoes on.
"I forgot to bring a pair of socks for you, I'm sorry," Danny apologized as he knelt down.
"That's alright, I don't need 'em," Autumn replied. "Thank you f-f-for getting my things."
"You're welcome, Auty."
"You're... Y-You're not upset with me are you?"
Danny finished tying her sneaker. "God, no. Why do you ask?"
"I don't know... You just seem kinda upset."
Danny glanced up at her as he tied the laces of her other sneaker. "I'm not upset, just tired," he said giving her a half smile.
Autumn felt bad, it was her fault that he was so tired. "I'm sorry, Jed..."
"Why are you sorry?" he asked standing up.
"Because... you've had to stay with me and sleep in this uncomfortable recliner..."
Danny snickered as he retrieved her jacket. "I didn't have to stay with you, I chose to because I wanted to. Besides, I'm literally always tired," he told her. "If I wasn't here with you, I'd be losing sleep doing something else." Stalking, killing... or writing.
"Well... you'll get some better sleep tonight, won't you?" Autumn asked as he helped her up from the chair.
"I'll try." Danny held her jacket open so she could put it on.
"Try? How come you wouldn't sleep?"
"Because I'm going to be checking on you every thirty minutes to make sure you haven't died on me."
Autumn turned to him with furrowed brows. "I-I'm not gonna d-die..."
"I don't know... you're leaving AMA..." Danny said trying to keep a straight face.
"Do you really think I'm going to die?" she asked with concern.
Danny chuckled. "No, I don't think you're going to die, I'm just giving you a hard time," he told her. "I do worry about you leaving the hospital so soon though. You'll just have to take it easy for the next few days. It will be like you're at the hospital, only better. I can put on a nurse outfit if you want me to."
"Like a skimpy one?"
"Extremely skimpy."
Autumn giggled. "I would definitely die then, of laughter," she said. "Y-You could get one from the H-H-Halloween store."
