I apologize for the not so short break I took. I've been battling the usual heath issues, spending time with family, and wrapped up in a strong addiction to the game Ark. I appreciate the continued support. I have a lot to be thankful for this year, especially with all the readers I've had and gained. Thank you all so much, I hope you continue to read my story. I hope you all find lots of happiness in the new year to come.♥️ Happy Holidays.♥️
When Danny and Autumn walked into the gazette, they were greeted by numerous people who were quite surprised to see her. Especially Charlotte who hugged Autumn so tightly that she squeezed the breath out of her.
"What's going on out here?" Harold questioned coming out from his office. "There's an awful lot of commotion for it to be Monday morning." Then he seen the group of people gathered around Autumn. "Ah, what is it, bring your girlfriend to work day?" he said with a chuckle as he made his way over to them.
"Well, we have something we need to go do today. Would it be alright if I took an extended lunch?" Danny asked.
"Yeah, that shouldn't be a problem at all."
Danny smiled a toothy smile. "Thank you, sir, I appreciate it greatly."
"No problem, Jed." Harold turned his attention to Autumn who was still chatting with Charlotte. "Miss Carter, how've you been?" he asked with a hint of guilt.
The lilac haired girl looked to her former boss. "I've been okay. Th-Thank you for asking. How are you?"
"I'm doing good. You healing up alright?" It was hard to not feel ashamed for firing her. It felt like the right decision at the time, but only because he was so captivated by Victoria. When he realized how she was, he realized her writing was less than mediocre.
"Yeah, m-my sh-shoulder still hurts, but everything else feels alright," Autumn told him.
"Ah, well, I'm glad you seem to be feeling much better. You, uh, looking for a job?"
Autumn shook her head. "No. Just taking it easy for now."
"I see. Well, that's probably for the best. I guess I'll get back to my office now, Good seeing you, Autumn."
"Wait. Have some c-candy," she said sticking her hand down into the bag and producing a handful of sweets.
"Oh, thank you." Harold held out both of his hands and Autumn filled them up with candy. "I'll go and enjoy these right now." he said with a chuckle.
Once everyone had cleared, Danny and Autumn made their way to his desk. He pulled his chair out and offered it to Autumn.
"No way, you gotta work. I'll steal a chair from the conference room," Autumn said.
"Nope, sit your little bottom down, I'll go steal a chair from the conference room," he insisted.
Autumn was about to protest when someone assaulted her peripheral. It was Victoria...
"Good morning, Jed," she said in a soft voice. The brunette didn't even acknowledge Autumn.
"Morning, Victoria." he replied dryly.
"I wanted to show you my bag. I finished it this morning. See?" Victoria turned to the side and held up a pleather bag that had been stitched to look like the Ghost Face mask. "Isn't it awesome? I thought it would be fitting to put our notebooks and camera in for when we go to press conferences."
Danny looked at the bag. "It's quite impressive, but I have my own," he said patting his worn messenger bag.
"Oh, c'mon, don't be that way. We're a team! The Ghost Face team!" she beamed.
