TW: Graphic depictions of animal abuse, death, and gun violence. This chapter has extreme violence, gore, and sensitive themes that may be quite upsetting to some readers. This is a reminder that this story is a work of fiction. I do not condone violence of any kind. I'm very aware of real life violence and the impact it has on people. I'm no stranger to the pain it can cause. Readers read at their own discretion.

Danny was startled awake by the sound of an animal screeching. He sat up quickly thinking that maybe he had accidentally rolled over Casper, but the kitten was nowhere to be seen. He then heard a thud followed by the sound of something flopping around. His blood ran cold when he saw that the light was on in the hallway. There hadn't been a single light on in the house when he came home earlier. Danny got up off the couch and cautiously started toward the hallway. He heard another thud and what sounded like a cracking noise. When he rounded the corner he found Victoria on her knees with a bloody hammer raised above her head. It only took a fraction of a second for Danny to realize that she was killing Casper.

"You... You fucking bitch!" Danny shouted grabbing a handful of her thick, beautiful locks. She dropped the hammer as he yanked her back away from the small, bloody pile that used to be a kitten. He grabbed her by the chin and reared back to bust her in the face, but he stopped himself. "You fucking bitch..." he said again as his voice broke. Danny shoved her away from him and he turned to Autumn's beloved kitten. He wasn't dead yet, no, of course not. The small creature was struggling as his tiny paws batted the air in an effort to breathe. His skull had been cracked open and Danny could see brain matter spilling out from the crack. Visions of the small struggling kitten that his cousin set on fire flooded his mind. Danny once again felt like that helpless little child again.

Victoria began to laugh at the broken man as he wept over the kitten. It served him right for not doing what she had told him to do. "You should've listened!"

"What difference would that have made?!" Danny shouted as tears dripped from his chin. "Something dies either way, and as bad as I fucking hate it I'd rather for it to be Casper than my child or Autumn!" He picked the hammer up and finished the kitten off so he wouldn't have to struggle any longer. Danny threw the hammer down and got up off the floor.

Victoria, satisfied with what she had done, snapped a few photos of the dead kitten before getting up off the floor. She went into the living room where Danny was sitting on the couch fumbling with a lighter in an attempt to light his cigarette. "Have you learned your lesson, or do I need to kill Autumn also?"

"Go to hell, Victoria..." Danny muttered before taking a long drag causing the cigarette to burn rapidly with a bright ember.

Victoria laughed as she sat down on the couch beside him. "We're already there, baby. Didn't you know? Now, you're going to make Autumn get an abortion, right?"

"Is that what your partner told you to do? Kill my cat and bully me into killing my unborn child?" Danny questioned.

"Yep, he said if you didn't comply I could do whatever I wanted to make you do so," the devilish woman replied.

Danny exhaled and a thick cloud of smoke crept from his lips and nose. "Was that before or after he told me not to worry about Autumn or my child's safety?"

The smile on Victoria's face faltered slightly. "What? What do you mean?" she questioned.

"Your partner sent me a text today," he replied calmly.

Her smile quickly faded. "No he didn't..."

"He did. Look." Danny retrieved his phone and pulled up the conversation.

Victoria took the phone from him and read the text messages. She had no idea that's what Benjamin had meant by looking at the fishies with Autumn. He had taken the bitch out on a fucking field trip. He never took her anywhere like that... But that was the least of her worries. Benjamin had told Danny what he had told her about not hurting Autumn. What the hell was he doing? He was ruining it for her... but he did tell Danny to make his relationship with her work... but what was he going to do now if he found out about what she had done and the fact she had went against his wishes. Victoria had already sent a photo of the dead kitten to Autumn... What was she thinking? The simpleton would surely tell him. It was over.
