When Autumn awoke, she found herself immediately feeling for Danny's hand, but it wasn't there. She sat up and looked over to find the other side of the bed... desolate. That feeling of loneliness took hold once again, but that was okay, she just needed to get up and find him. Autumn threw the covers back and went to get out of bed, but a piece of paper on the nightstand caught her eye. She picked it up and found that it was a note from Jed.
Dear Bun-Bun,
I have gone to attend a press conference at the request of our boss. I'm extremely sorry for leaving you alone, I know you don't want to be during this time. I hope you can find it within your heart to forgive me. When I get back you can punish me in any way you see fit. I can't wait to get back to you, my little rabbit.
All My Love,
JedAutumn sighed and laid the note back down on the nightstand. She couldn't allow herself to be angry or upset with him, especially for doing his job. He had so graciously put his life on hold to take her in while she healed from all the trauma. Autumn felt sad, lonely, and frightened, but she wasn't mad at Jed.
Autumn got up and went to the living room where she got her phone from her bag. She sent Jed a text telling him that she wasn't upset and that there was nothing to forgive, she wished him luck, and told him that she couldn't wait to see him. Autumn then glanced at the clock and seen it was almost 6. Jed hadn't told her what time the press conference started, hopefully he was okay. Just then, her cell phone went off and it was a message from him.
Jed: You sure? Pretty rude of me to leave you there by yourself... Are you doing okay? Conference is about to start soon. I can't wait to see you either! <3
Auty: I'm sure. :) I know these articles are important to you. I'm terrified, to be honest, but I'll be okay.<3
Jed: Aww, I'm really sorry, rabbit. :( I'll be home as soon as possible. I gotta stop at the drugstore after the conference. Anything you need me to pick up?
Auty: It's okay, I need to stop being such a scaredy cat. And I don't think so, thank you.
Jed: I like that you're a scaredy cat, makes you clingy. ;)
Auty: You like clingy?
Autumn didn't receive a text back from Jed after that, she assumed the press conference had probably started. Lonesomeness set in and Autumn sauntered off back toward the bedroom where she debated on whether or not she'd lay back down. She felt quite unnerved, laying down seemed out of the question, but sitting up and waiting for Jed would make her feel anxious. Perhaps a warm shower and a movie. Autumn made her way into the bathroom and turned the shower on. She avoided the mirror as much as possible because she didn't want to see how awful she looked. She hadn't really seen her reflection since the night she was attacked. Jed had been taking care of her hair though, so maybe she didn't look that bad. Still, Autumn kept her eyes off the mirror.
The warm water felt good on Autumn's sore body. She wanted to stay in there, but the thought of Ghost Face breaking in while she was showering made her quite anxious. Washing her hair with one hand took the longest; she wasn't even sure if all the conditioner had washed out, but she wasn't staying in there any longer. She didn't need a repeat of the other night... Autumn got out of the shower and dried herself off the best she could, her shoulder was starting to ache from moving it too much. She then made her way back to the bedroom where she picked up a t-shirt from the floor. It wasn't until she had slipped it on that she realized it wasn't hers; the faded Misfits print and the smell of cologne with a hint of cigarettes made it pretty clear. Jed wouldn't mind would he? It was painful putting it on and she didn't feel like subjecting herself to the pain again, then again to put another shirt on.
