Autumn enjoyed her lunch date with Danny immensely. She didn't talk, but her coworker kept her very much entertained with his silliness and stories of journalism over the years. He asked her yes or no questions to get to know her and so that he wasn't constantly talking about himself. It didn't take Autumn long to warm up to him, he was just so easy going. Jed was the best journalist in town, and yet, he didn't let it go to his head. Autumn wouldn't necessarily call him humble, but he was well grounded. She wanted to tell him things too, but her twisted tongue just wouldn't allow it at the moment. She never wanted her medication as much as she did now. Hopefully the money she earned doing this article would allow her to pay for it so she could actually converse with her new friend.
After their lunch date, Danny gave her a ride home, he knew where her house was at, but of course he had her tell him through text. He felt like he had gained her trust already and he didn't want to mess that up. She seemed to be in a much better mood despite all the anxiety inducing situations she had been in and it made it quite difficult to say goodbye to the little rabbit. He watched her until she got into the house to make sure no creeps tried to get her – he was the only creep allowed to snatch her up if he wanted to... That's why he wasn't worried about her staying by herself, he was Ghost Face and in control of her fate. Though out of courtesy, he should've asked if she was alright to stay by herself since the police had suggested those who lived alone to stay with someone. Perhaps she had relatives near by or friends that she could stay with. It might strike her as odd if he offered her a place to stay, he didn't want her to think he was trying to get laid. All the fun they could have though after work, horror movie marathons with loads of pizza they'd never finish, writing together, listening to music, and maybe even some cuddling. That would keep him off the streets for awhile, but would it make him want to hurt Autumn? Would he find it hard to refrain from butchering her? Danny got out his phone to text her, but he paused... She would think he was being a weirdo. He tossed his phone onto the passenger seat and backed out of her driveway. Autumn was fine by herself, there was no need to have her stay with him.
When Danny got home he found that he had a text message from Autumn that read, "Thank you so much for everything you've done for me today. I'm sorry if I annoyed you at all, I know I can be a bit difficult. It means a lot to me that you asked me to help you on this article... and also, thanks for sticking up for me." Danny smiled and wrote back, "Absolutely, Little Rabbit. I enjoyed your company today and I look forward to our collaboration on this article. As far as your ex goes, I wish I could've socked him in the face, haha! No one that hideous has the right to run their mouth. Maybe Ghost Face will slash him. :P Just Kidding. I think..."
A few moments passed and he received another message from her.
Auty: I honestly wouldn't be upset. I might even put a thank you in the paper addressed to Ghost Face... Do you think he reads our paper?
Jed: No doubt. He'd probably be flattered if you did that. He may even pay you a visit!
Auty: God, I hope not... That would be just my luck.
Jed: But what if he just wanted to drop by to say 'hello'?
Auty: That would still be horrifying...
Jed: He might be a great guy. ;)
Auty: I doubt that, lol.
Jed: Since we're on the subject... I meant to ask you if you were alright by yourself. Y'know, after the police advised folks not to be alone.
