This is a short chapter, but I hope you all enjoy. I'm doing much better. Thank you for the kind words and for understanding. <3

Autumn was full of emotion as she looked at the band of small diamonds. It was the cutest little ring she had ever seen. She then looked at Danny. "Y... Y-You m-mean it?"

He chuckled. "Of course, Auty. So will ya?"

Autumn promptly nodded. "Y-Yes!" She then wrapped her arms around his neck and hugged him tightly.

What a relief. Danny was glad he didn't have to do anything unpleasant. It had been too good of an evening for it to be spoiled like rotten milk. He wrapped his arms around her and hugged her tenderly, taking in her scent. "I'm so happy you said yes," he breathed. "I love you, Autumn."

"I love you, Jed," she said back to him. "So much." She then took his face into her hands and kissed him on the lips.

He smiled then kissed her back. "Now, how about I put this ring on your little finger," he said taking the ring out of the box.

Autumn nodded and swiftly stuck her hand out for her fiancé so he could make the engagement official.

Danny took her hand and slipped the ring onto her finger. "There. Fits perfectly. I hope you're not disappointed in the size and style. You said you didn't really like jewelry because it bugged you, so I asked the lady at the jewelry store what kind of an engagement slash wedding ring a girl like you would find the least irritating so she suggested something like this."

"Oh, I ab-so-solutely love it! It's so cute!" Autumn chirped as she admired the piece of jewelry.

Danny kissed her on the cheek. "You're welcome. Thanks for making me the happiest fella in the universe by agreeing to be my wife."

Wife. Autumn was going to be a wife, his wife! She was on cloud nine! Never did she think something like this was possible and with someone who she absolutely adored with every fiber of her being. "Well, thank you for a-asking me to be your wife."

"Not alarmed by how soon I asked?" Danny questioned as he ran his hand up and down her back.

With a smile on her face she shook her head. "When we g-getting m-married?"

"How about soon? You mind a courthouse wedding?" Danny asked.

Autumn shook her head. "No, not at all. I-I don't even know v-very many people I could invite to a wedding."

"Same here, bunny. Besides, who needs all those people gawking at us. We can have Kim and Richard there if you want," he suggested.

"Yeah! I'd love that!"

Danny kissed her on the cheek. "I knew you would." He held Autumn in his lap for awhile and watched her as she admired the ring on her finger. He had lost his mind. Actually – he had lost that a long time ago. What Danny was starting to lose, was interest in making stories. It wasn't necessarily because of his love for Autumn, but because someone else was out there slashing the folks in town and he was having to collaborate with someone he didn't care for. He desired to go back out there, but it wouldn't be the same. He wouldn't be able to stalk people like he used to now that Autumn was with him. None of this was her fault though, Danny allowed himself to fall so deeply down that hole, there was no coming back. His life had changed. Hopefully he wouldn't start wanting kids... it was too late for that. Which he had never disclosed to Autumn that he was fixed. "Auty, there is one thing I forgot to mention..."

The smile faded from her face slightly. "What?"

"I'm sterile. I can't have kids," Danny admitted.

The smile returned to Autumn's face. "That's alright. I-I don't want to ev-even think about having kids."
