Why

Ravenna walked through the halls of the dark manor, Samael behind her tripping over his own small paws. The two walked to her room walked, her eyes still on her kitten, who had convinced himself he was scary.
She slowly shut the door as she heard a noise in front of her, she turns her head to face the intruder that was in her room.
Mattheo Riddle. Sitting in her desk chair like he's a fucking king.
"Do you have any business to be in my room?" She stated calmly. The brunette looked straight at her, blankly. A pen in his hands, eyes still locked, he slowly sets the pen down, turning his entire body to face her.
"Why?"
She looked at him in confusion. While she was confused she was also frustrated.
He made his way into my room to ask me "Why?" He couldn't wait outside? She thought to herself.
"Why what?" She took a small step to boy. Her arms crossed over her chest. She looked down at the small black ball by her feet, he was playing with her shoe laces.
Not now Samael, I'm trying to look intimidating. Ravenna mentally scolded the feline.
"Why are you not scared of me, and why can you block us from getting in your head?" He was still staring at her. He held a intense glare, his face rested in its neutral position, and his body still facing her.
"I don't see anything to fear." She was started to get annoyed with this little talk. She picked up her feet walking into the bathroom. She started ranting while he stayed in the other room.
"I've been taught how to block people from entering my mind. You must not be very acquainted with difficult magic if you find Occlumency to be the most impressive skill." Ravenna was losing her patience.
She looked in the mirror taking a breath, starting to walk back into the black and white room to face the boy. "I would assume that you learned as well I mean after all you're the devil's s-"
She walked into a wall, no not a wall a chest. She took a step back looking up at him. She didn't even hear him move. His eyes scanning her face and eyes. She looked in his eyes blankly. The girl let out a huff through her nose.
"I gave you an answer now leave." She stayed calm, her hands met in front of her, still looking up at his tall figure. He took one last look at the girl up and down before slowly turning striding out of my room. He shut the door behind him.
The girl looked down at the black blob of fur that sat on the bathroom tile looking up at her. She sighed looking at him. "He's going to be a handful isn't he?"
-----------------
She made her way through the rugged hall way in front of her older cousins room. The tinder met her knuckles. A faint 'come in' could be heard from outside the door. Twisting the knob to let herself in, there say the blond hair boy by an open window on the far side of the room. The boy sighed of relief, smoke came from his mouth.
"Good, I thought you were my mother." He pulled out the joint he held behind his back. She looked at him with a slight smirk. She shut the door striding closer to the boy.
"Come on, you and I both know she thinks you go to sleep at 8:00 sharp so she can start drinking until dusk." Ravenna said with a chuckle.
It was no secret that Narcissa Malfoy had a drinking problem, she did well to hid it, but her endeavors always left the Malfoy sister carrying her mother to bed, making sure she didn't hurt herself in her wine-sodden state.
They both knew it was true. Don't get it wrong Narcissa cared for them but they also knew they were her only source of happiness. She's alone a lot, and she uses alcohol to cope. Ravenna couldn't blame her, she couldn't imagine how hard it was for her.
She sat down next to her cousin, he handed her the joint. Taking it in her fingers, she put it to her lips inhaling the toxic, calming smoke.
"What even is this?" Ravenna questioned, as she let the effects of the marijuana take its effect.
"Some type of muggle drug, called cannabis."
Whatever the hell it is, it's working.
"What happened cousin?" He looked at her. The girl looked at him handing it back to him.
"I was passed from Death Eater to Death Eater, to live with, I learned everything from how to make a feather levitate to advanced dark magic, I was tortured into the girl you see today. Other than that, I'm great." Ravenna said bitterly, the words coming out ruder than she had planned.
She took the joint again, letting the smoke hit the back of her throat.
"Draco, I've done unspeakable things. I've had unspeakable things done to me. I'm afraid I'm not the little outgoing ten-year-old girl you once remember." Ravenna frowned. She came here to smoke a blunt, not give a life story.
She looked down at her lap, thinking about the little girl that they both used to know. She was always surrounded by darkness. She felt as if she was drowning in it.
Ravenna could tell he was looking at her, but she couldn't bear to meet his gaze. She knew they would be clouded with something more pathetic than sympathy. She didn't want him to pity her and to Draco, it pained him. He hated this life for his cousin.
"I want you to be you cousin. I do not care for what you've done. You do not have to worry about being judged. We will always be on your side." She looked up at him.
Merlin, he's changed so much.
Everything has.
She smiled lightly putting her head on his shoulder.
"Thank you Draco."
