"Teddy"

"I don't want you to come in close contact to the manticore." Mattheo huffed out, swigging his axe mindlessly at the leafs and tree limbs in his way.

He truly didn't.

When Ravenna picked the sword he felt sick to his stomach. And even though Ravenna had fought with him and tried to tell him that she doesn't have another weapon, he didn't care.

She was the only thing he cared for.

It had been a few days. Looking for tracks. Watching the trees. Doing anything they could to find the monster. And this was still a topic of conversation.

"Well that's too bad because I'm using the god damn sword, and if I have to listen to you complain about it anymore, I'm not just going to use it on the manticore." She said sternly. A bit of truth in her threat.

Theodore had blocked them out. He thought of Harry. How he left him, how he wanted to say sorry, how he wanted to kiss him again and make it all better.

"Teddy, tell him he's being ridiculous." Ravenna exclaimed, hoping her best friend would have her back over the tired topic.

"I don't even know what we're talking about." The boy said truthfully, he really wasn't paying attention, the bickering had become white noise at this point.

"Honestly Teddy, ouch I needed you there," Ravenna's voice trialed off, Mattheo's eyes looked to the trees, noticing movement, he watched at the trees moved.

"Are you even listening Mattheo?" Ravenna said, her eyes on her lover.

He kept his gaze on the sky, watching as he listened to the creeks and thuds coming above them.

They all looked up now, Ravenna drawing her sword, Mattheo's ex grips tight in his hands, and Theodore trying his hardest to get the damn arrow on the bow.

Then it stopped.

The movement, the sound. Mattheo watched a second more before walking ahead, Ravenna joining him while she rambled on about how he needs to let her live a little.

Theodore was stuck behind the pack, as he tried to pick up the arrow he had accidentally dropped on the forest floor.

By the time he looked up only to see that he could not see the pair, he started walking forward trying to catch up when he heard something

"Theodore"

A voice called, it sounded familiar, it sounded like the one of his best friend that he has been listening to all day. But it came from behind him.

What the fuck.

He stepped closer to the woman's voice, trying to figure out if he had thought they went the wrong way.

Before he could take a step more, he saw what was making the noise.

Hint, it wasn't Ravenna.

Theodore watched as the manticore jumped down from the trees, making the ground rumble and shake as his eyes stared into Theodore's .

He screamed.

Theodore turned away from the beast, running as fast as his legs could go, the beast roaring, fallowing him as they ran through the bush.

"RAVENNA!!" Theodore screamed as he watched Ravenna and Mattheo run towards his directions, stopping dead in their tracks as they watched the creature, running towards them stop, and look up to the sky, flying up into the green of the trees.
