To a Riddle
Ravenna discreetly separated from the group of Slytherin students as she walked through the long hallways after dinner, once they had been dismissed to their rooms. She glanced down the hallways, trying to find a certain room, in what felt like a maze.
She stopped as she spots Severus unpacking some of his things. He looks up seeing the girl walking through the open door.
"Good, I was actually coming to get you, Dumbledore wants to see you in his office-"
"Did you know?" The irritated girl interrupted him. She didn't care much for what Dumbledore had to say as of right now. She needed to know if he knew.
"Know what, child?" He said, in a less irritable tone from what the rest of his students were used to. Ravenna sighed.
Severus and Ravenna had a very complicated relationship. He was the only man she could think of that tried to be a father figure to her. He was also the only grown man she trusted. She never worried if he held ill intentions over her.
She walked over and sat on his desk while he was facing the other way, putting things away in cabinets, using magic.
"I am to be married in less than a year. To a Riddle no less."
The books that where in the air fell. Landing with a thump, dust wafting near the ground.
"Married? Are you being cross?" she looked at Severus, he saw no lie in her facial expression.
"Do you really think I'd joke about this?" she paused.
"So, you didn't know?" she said, looking up at him, he stood a few feet away from the pale girl. He could see how sickly she looked, how skinny, how tired her green eyes looked.
"I would have told you if I knew. Which Riddle is it?" he looked at her, disgust laced in his otherwise passive tone.
She could tell he was upset. It was always his wish for her to never be under anyone's control, to choose her own fate. He never wanted the Dark Mark for her either. He truly did care. More than he let anyone see.
"Mattheo." she looked down.
"I would have much rather you been with Tom. At least then I could have the confidence he wouldn't get violent."
Could have lied but thanks for being honest, sniverous.
It was no secret that Tom Marvolo Riddle was the sensible one of the Riddle brothers. He might have been calmer that Mattheo, but he was not docile. He was cold, calculated, manipulative. He could charm a crowd and twist people's minds to believe whatever he wished.
He was a force to be reckoned with, he was never truly loyal to anyone.
Dangerous.
The girl looked up in surprise, "Do you truly think he'd hurt me?"
