"I'm afraid we are out of time."
It had been a while, a month since the death. A month of mourning, of healing.
Or attempts to heal, rather. It was no secret that everyone who attended that wedding came out a completely different person.
One human less.
And suddenly, as if they were never gone, everyone was back at Hogwarts.
Attending classes. Being normal.
And as far as anyone knew, Lynx died in an accident and their father had committed suicide from the guilt of losing his child.
Oh, but little did they know.
The guilt of killing her father took over Astra for a while, until she had finally calmed. Some people deserved to die, she told herself. As she had many times before. She came to that conclusion after weeks, days, hours.
Mattheo and Theodore kept Ravenna's close encounter with death, a secret.
So now it was back to Hogwarts. Again.
Back to doing school work, having tension with Potter, and living semi normal lives.
This was them.
They walked through the grand doors, all of them a little bit different than they were the last time they were here.
They walked in strong and confident, not letting their tragedies show. Their heads were held high, as if they were the pinnacle of integrity.
The group were settled and tended to their classes, except for Ravenna. Ravenna had someone else to check on.
She made her way through the school hallways, feeling as if she hadn't been in them for years.
She wondered what the status of her relationship was with Mattheo. Were they considered married now, despite the fight that broke out? Or would they be stuck as fiancés forever?
She walked into the classroom, not bothering to knock as she made her way into the class. She was filled with relief when she saw him.
"Thank Merlin," she breathed, "thought you might have died when you didn't answer my stupid letter." She sat on the table.
"It was too dangerous to answer you, I couldn't, but yes I am just fine." He said looking at her face.
Snape looked exhausted, different. Then again, they all looked a little different.
"Dumbledore said that when it's time, he has a note for you to give Potter."
Ravenna looked at him with curiosity. "Why would Potter need a note?"
From me no less.
"He said it would be good to have the boy on your side. Said he can be beneficial."
She scoffed, "How could he be beneficial?"
"Ravenna, I don't know." Snape almost cut her off with his words.
They stood looking at each other, tense.
Ravenna sighed, "Fine, I'll see you later Snivellus." She said with a wave, as she hopped down and made her way out.
"Do not call me that." Snape yelled after the girl, somewhat relieved she hadn't lost her humor.
Ravenna went to class, the whole day a blur. Things like this didn't matter anymore. Grades, OWLs, and even finishing school didn't matter.
Astra was paying attention, she had come somewhat back to herself. Tom was distracted by her, that nagging worry that hung in the back of his throat was suffocating him.
