Its about a week into summer now and I'm already bored of it. With my uncle always working, I haven't been able to do much. A part of me wonders if he will ever get a break, but with all the trouble brewing at the ministry. I highly doubt it. I'm starting to worry if he'll even be around for my birthday. "One can only hope" I thought aloud. I lazily made my way up to my room. The bed in the middle was a mess of grey and black sheets, my desk in the corner was full of parchment and photos along with some clothes on my floor. Unpacking really isn't my strong point. Maybe cleaning would cure my boredom. With that thought in mind I began to tidy up my room, putting the clothes away and keeping the parchment neat. I even went as far as to unpack the rest of my trunk. As I was hanging up a Gryffindor banner onto the wall a hoot called from behind. I smiled when I saw the tawny owl. "Thank you my feathery friend, you have saved me from boredom" It stared blankly at me with its beady eyes.Hey Elsie,
I know it's only a week into the break but I have some news I thought I'd let you know. Padfoot has moved in with me. You understand how it is with his family... Please don't worry too much. He is safe and happily sleeping as I write this. I'd send you a photo but I wouldn't know how to use a muggle camera nor do I have a a wizardy one. That wasn't the only reason I wanted to write to you. I was wondering if you'd be able to visit? Or if we could visit you? I know your birthday is coming up and we want to celebrate it with you! I could even see if Moony and Wormtail could come along too. All the marauders in one place, I think it'd be great. Let me know what you think of the idea soon. It's not like you have much of a choice. We'll be seeing each other at some point whether you like it or not.
Love, your best friend in the whole world, Prongs
A laugh escaped my mouth. He really is an amazing friend, I hope Sirius is doing okay too. "Could you please wait a moment?" I told the owl, who still stared blankly at me. I rushed over to the table and grabbed some parchment. Once I'd finished writing my reply, I gave his owl a little treat and the letter. The owl hooted before flying off into the darkness. It always amazes me how muggles never notice owls flying with packages and letters, I don't know how many other wizards there are in London but surely some muggles would notice? Maybe I should've taken up muggle studies.
"Elsie? What are you doing awake? It's almost midnight!" Danny stood at the door, still in his formal attire. There were dark rings around his eyes and his face seemed to droop. He seemed worn, as if all the hard work had drained the life out of him. "Sorry, I didn't realise the time. I was writing to a friend" A smile rose on his lips. "Well they better visit soon, been missing those trouble makers you call friends" I laughed quietly as he made his way down the hall. Little did I know that my visitors would be arriving in the morning.I slowly ate my breakfast, tired from staying up so late had made my motivation for anything quite low. The toast was getting colder faster then I could eat it. My uncle however was in a rush to get to work, I watched as he ran around the small house grabbing all that he needed. "Elsie have you seen my wand?!" I point to the counter where his wand sat. "Oh... Right, thank you" He kissed my forehead and took his wand before heading to the door. I heard the door open but I didn't expect to hear. "Hello lads, suppose you're here for Elsie?" With that I got up and wandered to the door, there stood outside with their trunks, James and Sirius. "Yes sir!" Danny turns back to me. "Well now that they are here I really should be off, I'll see you soon pumpkin" He gave me another kiss on the forehead before leaving. I turn my attention towards the two weirdos at my door. "Don't you look lovely this morning" James mocked. Well if he had just woken up from a late night he wouldn't exactly look the best now would he? "I was up late Prongs, if I knew you were coming this early maybe I'd have prepared"
After I had changed into something more decent and made myself a bit more presentable we decided to set up the boys 'room'. "Will you two be alright sleeping in a tent?" I asked as we assembled the fabric and poles, it didn't seem very large and if the others are going to be staying then there won't be enough room. "I'm sorry there isn't a spare room" The two only laughed, how is this a laughing matter? "There's no need to worry Vixy, there is plenty of room" I still wasn't convinced when the tent was done. It was half my height and seemed more like a small pillow fort you'd make as a kid. "Just look inside and you'll see" I sighed and crawled through the small entrance. I was surprised to find myself in a huge room. It looked just like a living room with a couch and small fire pit, it even had a dining table! from what I could see there were also extensions which I presume are bedrooms. "This is amazing!" James smiled at my comment. "I'm glad you think so, my family normally use this for huge events like the world cup"
"Well I still think it's amazing, thank you for coming"
