Weeks turned to months when living at the Potters. As time flew by I was beginning to feel like myself again. When we returned to Hogwarts it was almost like nothing had changed, the boys and myself were back to our monthly routine. We did have to lay back on the mischief now that James is head boy, a title that he proudly flaunts about. I'm sure he loves that he gets to spend more time with Lily too now that she was head girl. It really was a match made in heaven. Though even Lily had changed, her scolds and insults were becoming less frequent. Sirius and I had even caught the two chatting over lunch as if they were good friends. "Well you two seem to be getting friendly" Sirius said as Lily had left the great hall. "Yeah, we seem to be on good terms" James smiled to himself. I'm glad they are finally getting along. "Does that mean you've given up on becoming her boyfriend?""Wait now I never said that! I still love her" He pointed at me, I pushed his hand away and squeezed myself between Sirius and James. "You could have just asked me to move over" Sirius muttered. "Well can you?" He sighed. "No point now" I helped myself to a serving of the chicken soup and began to eat. I was starving. "I can't believe this" Remus mutters as he takes a seat across from us, his eyes never leaving the newspaper he held. "Another attack?" I asked. He sighed, put down the paper and slid it across to me. Another town had been attacked, more muggles dead. This war that was brewing was only drawing closer. I could feel it. "You know, I've heard rumours that they are looking for people to fight them" James speaks up. "I was thinking of joining once I graduated" It was a brilliant idea. "Count me in then" The boys turned their heads to me, they seemed shocked. "What? If James is going. I'm going. These people killed my uncle and I won't let them take the people I care about away from me anymore" Sirius reached for my hand and held it. "Then I'm in too"
We didn't mention our plans to join the fight since then, it had been weeks since then. With studies and our monthly outings, we were getting too busy to even consider it. "Hey I'm heading to the library, anyone want to join me?" Sirius raises his hand. I was surprised he would never willingly go to the library unless it was for something important. "I have some books to return and I want to spend time with you of course" He grabs his bag and we head out through the sea of students. The library was quiet today, perhaps it was due to classes. "Why is it always quiet when I'm here?" Sirius wonders aloud. "Maybe it's because you're barely here to see it busy" One by one, the books floated to their home. It was only when the last book had found its place, that I felt long arms snake around me. "Sirius this place is too open" I muttered as he placed a kiss on my neck. "Since when were you so worried about getting caught?" He asked. "Since now" I placed a soft kiss on his lips. "Now isn't the time for-"
"You realise you sound insane right" We stopped. Had someone seen us? No. "I'm not crazy!" That was Snapes voice. Sirius seemed to notice too. We both ducked down behind a desk "Don't you realise how weird this is? They go out once a month past curfew and aren't seen until morning!" What on earth was he on about now? Surely he can't be talking about us. "What's weird is that you keep spying on them, they probably just get late night detentions" The second Slytherin kept his gaze on the book, obviously bored with the conversation. "That can't be it, they slip past teachers every single time. They are hiding something and I'm going to prove it" We continued to listen to Snape and his plans. The moment he was out of sight we bolted back to the common room and into the boys dorms. When we arrived I found that James and Peter were lazily watching the map on the floor while Remus read a book by the window. "Lads we have a problem" The boys look towards us. "What do you mean we have a problem?" James was the first to speak up. "Snivillus is spying on us and we think he is onto Remus"
"How do you know?" Peter piped up. "He was in the library rambling on about how he was onto our monthly routine" I explained. Remus closed his book and sighed. "We have to be more careful from now on" He said. "Or we could scare him off" I don't think setting Remus or ourselves on him is a good idea. Someone could get hurt. "Sirius that's too risky" James speaks up. "But he won't stop until he catches us. Our best bet is to scare him off so he doesn't bother us anymore" Sirius pleads with them. "Pads as much as I would love to scare snivellus, it's too risky" James put an arm around Sirius. "We will figure it out mate, promise"
