Sirius
I haven't seen Elsie recently... No one has since she spoke to Dumbledore and that was a week ago. I've been worried. "I wonder what Elsie has been doing all week" Peter chirps up as he continues to eat dinner. "Something to do with the headmaster I suppose, that was the last time we'd seen her" James explains. "Maybe she is doing something for them? Or had to be sent home for the week?" Peter continues to list off reasons why she wasn't around. Was it because of me? The friendship we had was finally going so well. Did I stuff it up? Was she still mad about what I had called her?
"Padfoot you seem so dull" James brought me out of my thoughts. "If you're worried about lil vixen why don't we just see her?" He suggests. " I'm a hundred percent sure that'll make you feel better" He smiles, it would but it's no use. "What's the point James? She doesn't want to be with me, remember? I deserve this..." He dragged me out anyway and followed Evans. "Mind if we tag along Evans?" We follow her up the stairs, I as dreading every moment of this. She only wants us to be friends, I have to respect that. "I do mind" She grumbles. "We just want to see Elsie" I admit, but obviously she did not care. "You know the rules Black, no boys in the dorm" She goes to open the door. "Please Lily.. He is really worried about her. I am too" James buts in. "We have no idea whats going on.... I just want to see her" Her look softens a bit but still stern. "Do you really think that's a good idea? After what he said?" She goes to open the door.
"Please Lily..." As James tried to convince Lily to let us in my eyes wandered through the open door. In the distance I could see a large lump of bed sheets... It was her bed. Has Elsie even left the bed this week? What is going on? "Moony" The voice was quiet, as if it didn't want to be heard at first. I turn to James who had gone quiet. "Moony" The voice sounded broken, as if it were about to let out another cry. "Moony?" Lily looks towards Elsies bed then back to us. "Remus... She means Remus"
James seemed to get the idea and went into the boys dorms, returning with Remus not even a moment later. We watched silently as Lily led him into the girls dorms, the door shut and we were left staring at the wooden door. "She'll never forgive me will she?" I look over to James, he just sighed.Remus
"Elsie? It's Moony" I took a seat on her bed and gently placed a hand on the lump of blankets and sheets. "Are you gonna come out of those sheets?" She slowly got up from under the covers, I didn't expect she'd look like this. Her hair was all over the place, her eyes dark and teary, her skin was paler then usual and she seemed a little thin. Had she not eaten or slept? Why was she like this? I didn't even give her a chance to speak, I just pulled her into my arms. "It's okay to cry" I rubbed her head gently as she cried, I hate seeing her like this. She was like a sister to me and all I want for her is to be happy. "Now what's going on?""I lost him Remus... My uncle... He was murdered... Remus he was all I had left" I looked over to Lily who just stood in shock. I guess she didn't know either. "The funeral was a couple of days ago... I only just got back last night" I stayed with the girls that night, they didn't mind. They understood. I was relieved when she fell asleep. "Remus, how did you do that? She hasn't slept all week..." Lily quietly asked, as if not to wake her. "I'm not too sure myself..." Lily and I spoke quietly as she slept. We decided that in the morning Lily would inform the headmaster and ask if we could take the day off to take care of Elsie. Morning soon came and she still hadn't woken up, though the headmaster agreed and said he would inform the teachers about today. "Elsie, it's time to wake up" I gently shook her awake. Her hair seemed even messier then last night. "What time is it?" She yawned. "About ten"
"Ten? shouldn't you be in class?" After we explained the plan for today Lily took her to the bathroom to get cleaned up. While she was washing, I made her bed and got out a fresh uniform for her. I left them by the door and waited for them to come out. Elsie came out looking a little more lively, though a little thin. "Come on, lets get that hair sorted" Lily muttered as she tended to Elsies hair. It was like seeing a mother brushing her childs hair, a little amusing as Lily would scold her every moment or two for moving. "Are you hungry?" Elsie shook her head but her stomach said otherwise. A small growl escaped from her stomach. "Come on, lets go get some breakfast" She shook her head again. "I don't want to go out there" I took her hand. "It'll be okay, Lily and I will be right there with you"
When we made it to the great hall it was almost like Elsie was back to her old self again. Her plate was full to the brim with everything she could find. I laughed as she practically inhaled a piece of toast. "Feel any better?" she nods quietly and continues to eat. "Hey Remus, I think it's best she has some space" Lily motions towards the entrance. James, Sirius and Peter were walking towards us. I got the message and made my way towards them. "So what happened? Is she okay?" Sirius was the first to question me . "You were there all night!" Peter jumped in. "It's not for me to say what happened, it's up to her" We look over to Elsie. She was still eating quietly, Lily was still there with her. Making sure she ate something. "It's best we give her some space, she'll come back when she is ready"
