The exam period is always stressful. They always seemed to be filled with the many late nights of studying and prepping. Some students even spend nights on finding ways to try and cheat, but will always find themselves struggling. Among the many days and nights of academic struggle, there was one thing that always gave us students hope. Perhaps some more than others. "Evans would you like to go on the next Hogsmeade trip with me?" James followed Lily like a puppy while the rest of us sat back and watched. The great hall seemed amused by his attempts too. "I am sick of you following me around Potter, just leave me alone" She tried to brush him off but he was determined. "Come one, I'm not all that bad. Vixy tell her! You tell her how awesome I am!" I shook my head and laughed. "Sorry Prongs, you're on your own with this one. Right lads?" Remus, Sirius and Peter nodded in agreement. All of which were trying to contain their laughter. "What a load of help you lot are then"After a few more minutes of Lily trying to shoo him away she gets up and sits next to me. Frustrated. "How do you deal with it Elsie?" I take another bite of my sandwich. "He isn't as bad as you think" I chuckled as she rolled her eyes again. "I won't believe it until I see it" I hope that one day she can see he isn't all bad. I know the boys can be a bit much sometimes but I've tried my best to stop their abuse on other students on many occasions. Most of the time they'll listen but if it's Severus... Well it's hard to talk them out of it. I don't even remember how it all started, it is as if they hated each other from the moment they met. "One day you will"She only rolls her eyes again before huffing in annoyance.
"Hey while you're here. Do you think you could help me my defence against the dark arts essay? I don't feel overly confident with my work" With the full moon coming up and the boys wanting to sneak about, I haven't had time for homework. I really want to do well, especially since our exams are just around the corner. Perhaps I could take a break away from the boys or just hold on a little longer for summer. I couldn't wait for the holidays, it'll be nice to get a break."Yeah, we can spend some time this week in the library if you want?" With Lilys help I might have a chance of passing. "Thank you so much Lily, you're amazing"
Once lunch was over we made our way to transfiguration. We were continuing our work on vanishing spells. It was fun but difficult. You'd think with the whole animagus situation I'd be alright with transfiguration, but no. I couldn't get the hang of some of the spells we had learnt. "Just vanish you stupid thing" I muttered. While I practised the spell my eyes drifted over to Sirius and James. They were huddled close together, speaking quietly to themselves. It seemed a bit more suspicious then normal, was it another prank perhaps? "You know if you keep staring they'll notice" Remus chimes in. "They look like they're planning trouble" I stated as I attempted the spell again. "Aren't they always?"
"I think you mean aren't 'we' always" He laughed at the comment. "Well they do have a knack for dragging us into trouble" He stated. Luckily we were always able to avoid detention, while they got stuck in it. "I wouldn't be too concerned, if it is trouble we will surely hear about it... Or well... Witness it" We laughed again. "Quiet down you two! This will come up in your exam so I expect you to know the spell well" The professor then turned back to the other students, helping them practise. "You think you could help me with this?" I asked him. "Of course" My eyes quickly darted back to the boys. Their objects had vanished. The night brought some ease to the stress of our studies.Sirius had an arm around me keeping me close. James was discussing some homework with Remus while Peter listened a little hopelessly. I think he was worried about the exams too, but with the rest of the boys helping him I'm sure he will be okay. "You know we should go out tonight, explore the forest or something" James says lazily. "It's a bit late for that isn't it?" Peter chirps in, finally joining in on the conversation. "It's never late for fun Wormy, you should know that by now" Remus only rolls his eyes as he turns his attention to the fire, adding a couple more logs on. I watched as the flames washed over the wood. The warmth of it was cosy, enough for me to drift off. "Maybe we should get Vixy to sleep first"
"No! I'm gonna stay awake, if you want us to go out and do something then lets go" Sirius only shook his head in response. "Sorry sweetheart, but exams are in a couple days and you need the rest" James raises an eyebrow, almost amused by how Sirius was acting. "You almost seem motherly Padfoot" He laughs. It was a bit amusing to see him so motherly over me. "Well I'm sorry that I care ever so deeply for my girls well being" He says as he gets up and walks up to the dorms. He soon returns with a blanket and pillow. "I hate to say it but Sirius is right, the full moon is soon approaching and we will need all the rest we can get" Remus chimes in as Sirius lays a blanket over me. I told him I could walk to bed but he refused to let me go, he tucked me in and kissed my forehead. "Fine... Come on lads" James leads the boys upstairs, where they will most likely not sleep. Sirius gives me a quick smile before saying goodnight, though he didn't leave my side until I fell asleep. "I love you Elsie"
