"Hey has anyone seen James? I think he had my mirror" Sirius walks out of the boys dorms. "You mean the mirrors you two use to talk during detention?" Remus asks, though Sirius ignored him. "I can't find it or James" He sinks into the couch and huffs. "Why would James have yours? He already has his own" I asked. It made no sense for James to have both his and Sirius'. It defeats the purpose of even having them. "I don't know, I figured he might've taken it because it isn't in the dorm" He said. "You probably didn't look hard enough" I return my gaze to the map, lazily watching people move about the castle. Frank and Alice seemed to be getting cosy, they spend a lot of time in the library together. DUmbledore seems to pace a lot in his office, I wonder why. My eyes drifted towards the third floor. It was only now that I noticed James' footprints. Wait why was he with Lily? And why in a closet? "Merlins beard" I mutter. "What is it Vixen?" Remus looks up from his book. "Its James, I found him!" Sirius looks towards me. "Where is he then?" I couldn't believe it. "Um... He is with Lily"
"So? They spend a lot of time studying together these days" Peter says. "They are in a closet Pete" I held up the map and pointed to them. "No that can't be right, pass it here" I pass the map over to Sirius and wait for his reaction. "But she loathes him!" It was like an explosion went off inside him. He began a long speech about how she said this and that, about how she would never actually start dating him. "What are they doing? Head girl and boy stuff?" Peter asks, clearly confused about the situation. "Pete why else would two people be in a broom closet?" Sirius asks him. "Does this mean they are together?" Peter asks us. I'd assume so. Who knows how long they have been doing this. "Wait everyone shut up! They are coming back!" We were all silent as James waltzed in proudly. Lily trailed behind him, her face as red as a tomato. She gave us a quick wave before retreating to our dorm. "Um James, where the hell have you been?"
"Padfoot why would you ask such a question? Clearly he was making out with Evans" He looked at us in shock. "How did you know?!" I held up the map. He huffed in response. "It is times like these I regret making that damn map" He huffed. "So when exactly where you gonna tell us you two were dating? It's not like James Potter to keep his love life secret" His face turned red. "I wanted to make sure I was doing this relationship thing right before I told you guys" He explained. "I didn't want to screw things up with her" He is such a sweetheart. "Not a lone stag now, are you mate?" Sirius had a wide smile and gave his best friend a hug. We all gave our congrats to him. The head boy and girl were finally together.
As weeks went on they became more public about their relationship. Lily even spends time with us outside of dinner or lunch. Today was a perfect example, she came down to the lake with us again. She would often snuggle with James by the water. "How come you two don't act all coupley like that?" Peter asks. "I'm just happy spending time with who I love thank you very much" I said. "Don't worry Pete, we are very coupley in our own time" Sirius shot me a wink before skipping another stone. "Maybe you four should start going on double dates" Remus jokes. Honestly James and Sirius would be all for it, though I think Lily and I would be the ones third wheeling it. The boys would just ramble on and on about Quidditch. "It's a brilliant idea Remus!" James calls out.
"I second that!" Sirius smiles. I turn to face Remus who had a huge smirk on his face. "Now look what you've done. You're lucky I'm not gonna wipe that smug look off your face" He only laughed in response. "Hey Elsie, come skip stones with me" Sirius calls me over. "Sirius you know I'm terrible at it" I mutter. "I know but I'm getting bored, and watching you fail at it is amusing" He says. "How nice of you Padfoot and here I thought we were going to spend quality time together" I pick up a stone and throw it. It sadly sunk into the water without a skip. "You're doing it wrong" He says. I wonder where he got that idea from. "Well of course I'm not doing it right, like I said, I'm bad at it" He picks up two stones and passes one too me. "It's like this" He swiftly skips the stone across the water. I follow his lead and try to skip the stone but just like the first it sinks into the water. I felt like a child throwing things about. I was really bad at it. "Here try this one" Sirius passes me another rock. I sighed and tried again. To my amazement the stone skipped once. "You see that! I got it!" I looked back to Remus and Peter who both gave me a thumbs up. "Well done Vixen, maybe one day you'll be better then Padfoot" James says. "As if, I'm Sirius, the king of stone skipping"
